Now Wait a Minute…

“If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:10

If you have read my post from this morning, you might have noticed that I am blogging once a week over at Christian Women On-Line. I wrote my first post last night and it had to do with friendship. Friendship we make via the internet or blogging.

I had to share about my closest friend Jamie, who lives in Tennessee, because she truly has become someone really special in my life. I feel more like being a sister to her (okay me being the older sister – but not wiser ). But then again, we are sisters (in a way) like Lauren used to say: separated at birth …

Anyway, long story short. Guess what I received today? Any guesses? Yep – a ‘Friendship Basket’. You have another chance to guess from who…No other than Jamie aka TNChick. Can you believe it? As I wrote last night:

“But I have made a very dear and close friend in Tennessee through blogging. We have so much in common, it sometimes is scary…”

Now we even have the same thoughts in our heads . Below you will find a picture of the basket. But what really tickled me was the card enclosed, which described the item and why it was in the basket. I would like to share it with you:

“This Friendship Basket contains reminders of friendship:
Lifesavers to remind you of the many times we need help.
Cotton Ball for rough roads – seek the cushioned support of others.
A Rubber Band as a reminder to stay flexile.
Sweet Tart Candy to help you appreciate differences in others.
Candy Kisses to remind you that everyone needs kisses.
Happy Stickers. Smiling increases your face value & is contagious.
A Candle to remind you to share your light with others.
Band-Aid for healing hurt feelings.
Recipe Card to share a favorite with a friend; a symbol of caring.
A Paper Clip to help keep things together if they slip out of control.
Tissues to wipe away a tear.
Small Smooth Stone to remind your rough times refine & polish.
An Eraser to remind you that everyday starts with a clean slate.”

Isn’t that ? Told you…she is a true blessing to me. And if we don’t meet in this lifetime (although I hope we do)…I know that we will meet in heaven and dance on the street of golden together…

  1. I totally dig your gift. I think you made a really sweet friend. She sounds very special and I can’t wait to read her blog. Send me her blog URI so I can meet her. And I want to read more about you too. I am new to Bloggin Chicks and I am a Mother of 3. I go to the Church of the Nazarene in Owego, NY. I currently am studing closely the Book of John. It was a rough start but it is getting interesting when you read from The Message.

  2. I hope you eat that candy because it took all I had to resist eating those sweet tarts! LOL 🙂

You going to try that recipe? Mmmmm. Well, I don’t eat chocolate but they have other kinds of cake LOL

  3. Wow that is very cool that you are one of the four that was choosen to make up the CWO team. Very cool girl!…and how cool is Jamie?…lol That basket is such a cute idea. Sounds like you are starting your weekend off just right 🙂 I hope it stays that way.

  6. Awww….how sweet! I just finally got to ‘meet’ via telephone one of my internet friends just this morning! A surprise phone call from her, and we ended up talking long distance for over an hour. I can only imagine if we got to ‘meet’ each other…we’d probably be up all night talking! =o)

So sweet to have a great friend, isn’t it?
