Save us, O Lord our God,
and gather us from among the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name
and glory in your praise.
~ Psalm 106:47 (ESV)
Wow, December; where did this year go? Do you realize that in 24 days we will be celebrating the birth of our Savior? I love Christmas!
When you saw the title for this week’s post, you may have thought that I lost it or fellow of my rocker. I didn’t; I promise. You see in the month of November I was really busy with portrait photography. I made my clients very happy with the portraits I took of their children/family.
However, when I get very busy, I also get very flustered/disorganized. But not this time. Sure, I have had long nights (which are not yet over), but God has increased my clientele by 80% compared to last year. Wow, stunning, don’t you agree? I could not have it done with the prayers and support from my dear and trusted friends Lori, Lynn, Debbie, Connie, and Erin (thank you ladies for your cheers and prayers). Oh and of course the support of my beloved!
I am also thankful that God has given me the confidence not to give up after the first year. It is said that most photographers give up within the first year. You have to understand, I am not an A-Type person, so drumming up business does not come natural. So I know, it was God’s doing…Thank you Lord! I am also thankful for my former clients recommending my services 😉 .
What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us by leaving your link to your Thankful Thursday post below.
Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: busyness does not mean we have to be flustered, but gives us an opportunity to show our faith in God and prayers.

Oh Iris,
I’m not surprised at all that the Lord has abundantly blessed your photography. It is His gift to you.
Funny, you wrote about busyness.. I did too…
I’m feeling so excited about this season. Something is up and God is doing BIG things… And you know what? I get to watch it all play out and maybe even be part of it all. How cool is that.
So excited for Christmas and all the season brings. Hugging you my friend. Love you much. Lynn
Hi Iris,
I can surely identify with you! I have been super busy in November too! Really amazed at how God has seen us through 11 months and He has truly blessed us in many wonderful ways.
So glad to read your thankful list today. Thank God for blessing you in many wonderful ways. Wow, your portrait photography pictures are really nice! I love photography too but I take photo mostly of flowers and scenery. So thankful to God that He has blessed you with increased clientele. Do pace yourself and try to rest whenever you can. I am also learning to pace myself 🙂
Surely God is your strength and I am so glad you are relying upon Him daily. I am learning to do so too and am finding that His grace is always sufficient for me as He has promised! Praise Him! May He continue to bless you as you serve Him in your various gifted ways, and as He enables you.
Take care and Happy TT!
Warm regards,
Nancie
So great to hear how God’s shoing up in other people’s lives! Congratulations on your booming business!!
The anti-spam word that popped up is HOPE.
Amen? AMEN!!!
Let’s hope we don’t get lost in the busyness this month.
Let’s hope we can keep find Christ in CHRISTmas.
He is our Hope.
I love your last sentence! I actually just finished my Thankful Thursday post about that very thing! God is so good!
Dear Iris,
I, too, get very flustered and disorganized when I get too busy. I have seen how committing things to Him, especially this week my blog posts, results in blessing. This Christmas season (so far) the Lord has really been orchestrating things and making it visible to me that He is controlling things (e.g. weather canceling a planned event, getting suddenly very sick, but quickly getting over it) to help me TRUST Him, not try to have everything perfect, and see that what I normally get uptight about is not the eternal, though I may think it is “important”. I appreciated your post, and praise God with you for your 80% increase in clientele–God is good! You are also blessed with friends who support you, praise God for this also. Many blessings!
Wendy
Hi, Iris
Thanks for hosting TT, it’s my first time participating. I’m excited to visit some of the other posts. What you said at the end of your post is true, and I’m always amazed when it happens to me: It blesses me and others when I pray and show my faith even when I’m busy. Hello Iris,
God has blessed you indeed; an 80% increase in your business is wonderful, especially now when there is such economical chaos and uncertainty in this world.
Thanks for sharing, I know there are many who need to know that with God we can not only survive, but prosper in this crazy world economy!

Congrats on your business! I love photography, but don’t have the natural gift of it, so I enjoy looking at other people’s work instead!
