And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” ~ Luke 2:10-12 (ESV)

Ah, Christmas. What a wonderful time of the year. Are you ready for the celebration? I was done 3 weeks ago with preparations. The only thing I did not get done this year? Sending out Christmas cards. Maybe I will send out New Years cards this year with an encouraging message for 2011 🙂

This year I have been very calm around the season, focusing completely on the reason for the season. I read (and still do) Max Lucado’s “Life Lessons Christmas Devotional”. It is/was great and I know I will refer to it often in 2011.

I am thankful this Christmas that I can bless people who are less fortunate than we are. God is good, and it is wonderful to be able to share His blessings with others.

What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us by leaving your link to your post below.

Thank you for stopping by this week. Remember: when you get a little frazzled, take a deep breath, drink some cocoa and open up your Bible to Luke 2.

  3. Hi Iris, I envy you! I’ve been sick the past three weeks, so nothing got done. Now I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Visiting TT posts tonight will fill me with peace and help me to get focused on “the reason for the season.” Merry Christmas, dear one!

  4. wish you all the blessings in life this coming holiday season and more blessings this new year to come. mine is up, hope you do visit. cheers!

  6. I agree!

This season is about the Prince of Peace. I’ve spent too many years being so caught up in the holiday ‘madness’ that it was hard to focus on the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Not any more, though…

    Blessings,
    Marsha

  7. It’s such a busy season, but we should remember to slow down and really “get” the meaning of Christmas. Praying you have a blessed Christmas.

  8. I am thankful that I have only one more thing I need to do before tomorrow, and am still figuring out how to help my kids keep the focus on Jesus. I am thankful that I have room to make mistakes here, and that God will come behind, filling in the gaps, and helping me do better and better each day.

My post is about being thankful for JOY today. 🙂
