…the high divorce rate in the US (matter of fact, all Western countries)…Now, this epidemic, has even a grip on the Christian community.
For me, marriage is a life-long commitment (I know there are some cases where I would agree that a divorce is necessary) between one man and one woman. You can call me old-fashioned, narrow-minded, intolerant; but that is how I feel and I am sticking to it.
Some people say: “Oh, I don’t love him/her anymore” or “Oh, I just can’t get along with him/her any longer”…What’s wrong with you? You just don’t ‘fall’ out of love. We are not perfect and have our faults…
Yes, marriage takes a lot of work from both sides. I think that we have to take a good look at ourselves first, before we start ‘nagging’ at our spouse’s habits. I had to take a hard look at myself this year – see my post on ‘My Lighter Side’.
But if we look to the Lord for strength, we can make our marriages work – ‘until death do us part’…
