  2. I am blessed today as I am everyday!! Thanks for always being here to remind us of this often overlooked idea. I love being able to write my blessings down. I am now going every day to sit with my friend that is dying in Hospice House. It is something else to know that she is going to make it to Heaven before me. Sandy

  3. I found your post interesting since, as you know, my mother is from Germany. She and her parents were on what would be the last train that took refugees to what would become West Germany. All of the others wound up in East Germany. I am always amazed to see God’s hand at work in my family’s life! My mother wasn’t even a Believer yet, as she was a little girl. Still God was making a way, a provision for her and what would be for me as well!

    We still have a lot of family members in what used to be East Germany. When my mother’s cousin Harold was allowed to travel across the border (right before the wall officially came down) he was actually depressed. He realized that while they’d been struggling under communism, the rest of the world had passed them by.

    Sadly, I think as Americans, we tend to take our freedoms for granted. It’s all we’ve ever known, if we had had to struggle for them, it would be totally different!

    I just found your blog through another. I have yet to read much, but what I have read is good for the heart and the soul. I will read. Thank you for your posts.

    The main reason I wanted to say Hi is that my name is also Iris. I am a bit older than you, but still an Iris. We are few I think. Although I was in another state recently and a sales lady that waited on my husband and I was also Iris. Had a bit of fun between us with “us.”
