I received this from Ben at The Path Less Traveled:
I do not know these people. I know people who know them, however.
I’m sure that you don’t know them. You don’t need to. God does.
This was sent in from Laurie Davis on behalf of Vicky Field:
My son has been shot in Falujah. I wanted to get everyone to pray for my son Chad. Today Sunday, I got a call from the Army that my son had been shot in the head. I am asking for all your prayers. He was in a Humvee going through Falujah fighting and a gang of militia fighters fired on the Humvee and hit Chad in the head. The driver got him out of the city and took him to Baghdad. He was in fatal condition, but now has been upgraded to stable critical. His dad and I are on standby to fly to Washington then on to Germany as soon as the military calls us to go. The Army is trying to stabilize him enough to fly to Germany and at that time we will leave. Please pray that my son will not have brain damage and that he will be restored and healed by the blood of Jesus, and the grace of God. I ask for you to pass this prayer request on so there will be many prayer warriors praying for him. Thank you so much and I will try to keep you updated on his condition.
Regardless of how you feel about the war in Iraq, this is a family in need, it is a family who is hurting. I hope I can count on you, dear readers, to remember this family and this soldier in prayer.
Thank you for your prayer – In His grip~~Eph2810
yes, we will most definitley pray for Chad and his family. this must be such a hard thing to go thru!
thanks for passing the prayer request along.
blessings,
lisa
Oh thank you Lisa for your prayers….
Chad was shot back in ’04. He lives in Granbury – just a bit down the road from me. My understanding is that he’s been home for quite a while now and is doing well. I don’t know if there was any long-term damage from his wound.
Here’s a news link from a town east of here where he has family.

We should all be praying for those fighting in Iraq daily. And we should always be praying for peace.
Thank you so very much Carol for the information.
We are praying here at work (I am blessed to work in a church office) daily for the soldiers ~ and that the Mighty One will bring them home soon…
In His Grip ~~Eph2810
Carol’s comment that we should pray for all those in Iraq is so very true. It doesn’t matter what our stance on the war is; we ALL want our sons & daughters home asap & safely. I know I’m going to start praying for them.
I thought this was something that had just occurred. Apologies if anyone felt mislead. I have since been educated.
My faith, however, says that something was happening in Chad’s life that required the saints to be praying for him. Thus, the Lord’s purpose was served. 🙂
No problem Ben – I think that prayers are never in vain!
