Blogging Platforms!

Okay, so I started out with Blogger last year (because it was free ). But than I got the taste for WP through their ‘Free Multi Blog Site’. I just loved it…I like smilies – Yes.I.Do.!

But that was not the main reason why I tried WP. I got tiered of always depending on Blogger, people could not comment or I couldn’t post. I am not bashing Blogger – it served me well. But it was very frustrating at times. But then again – it is a free blogging tool and a lot of people don’t want to make the commitment to pay for blogging service. I was one of them. For one thing, I didn’t know if I would continue with it (and at the start I didn’t). But I tasted the world of blogging, the connection you make with people from around the world. It was great.

Blogger kept giving me fits. Not able to post or receive comments. So I looked around for a hosting service. And I found a great one; and they support WP. I have mega space on it, the customer service is great and I am not depending on a free blogging platform – YEAH! And I have my smilies . I pay $5/month (wait a minute they just went down with their price – $4.95/month)…So, if you are interested, let me know in the comment section and I will give you more detailed information.

Blest had a great post on Monday about comments and how she handles comments. Everyone who blogs want people to read their thoughts, but we like (no we love – at least I do) comments. I think that is why I stopped blogging last summer, because no one read my blog (or didn’t leave comments). I tried traffic sites (yeah – I picked up some personal reads from there, like Blest and Vicki). But you really had to search with those traffic sites and I didn’t had that much time to spare…So, how do you get ‘connected’? I did a lot of net-working. I followed the links on blogs I liked. I started reading and left comments. I joined the Carnival of Beauty (which I truly miss – blessings to you, Sallie). And I kept going to the blogs that left comments here. Yeah – you know, I do visit you when you leave a comment – maybe not the same day, but eventually I’ll make my rounds. I used to comment back on my blog and thanking visitors for their visits. But now it is mostly back-visits or I respond directly via email to a comment. I like the ‘personal’ connection to my visitors. I said in Blest’s comment section (on comments) that I used to get sad not receiving comments, but not any more. I just blog and if someone out there (just one person) was blessed with the words I wrote on Sting my Heart, that is enough for me. I use this tool to reach out and that is why I am here.

Okay – I better get some visits done before starting the grill for pork-steaks…You all have a great night.

Sharing the Truth…

Carnival Logo

It is not that I am lazy to write a new entry for this week’s Chick’s carnival, but I have written so many entries about why I like (love) to blog, I edited one of my favoirte entries about blogging….So here you go 🙂

[My blogging friend and sister in faith, Carol came up with a blogging theme for this up-coming week. Blog about blogging…Yeah, you read right. If you would like to know about it, visit her Blog, She Lives…]

Her first question to kick of the theme: Why do you blog? To be honest, it is trifold for me…

Since I am not a good one-on-one witness (with words that is) sharing my faith with others I chose the WWW to talk about His salvation. Actually it is a much bigger opportunity than my own neighborhood. Do un-believers read my blog? Not sure, because my statistics don’t tell me if my visitors are believers or un-believers. I share my walk with Him anyway. I am open as a book, meaning that I do share my struggles in my walk. Oh, you didn’t know that Christians struggle? Well this one does…You see, I start struggling if I take my eyes off of the Cross. If I don’t pour myself out every, single day and be filled by His Holy Spirit I can’t live the life God wants me to live. I am a born sinner, saved by His grace through faith. That is why I chose my URL to be Eph2810…just in case someone types these letters in the search engine. You might wonder why I chose the little creature on top to be my symbol and the title is Sting My Heart? Well that creature is a somewhat like me. Stung by the hurt of this world and pierced by His truth that I will not make it to heaven without my faith in Him…

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ~ Matthew 28:19-20

Secondly, I like to find people from around the world that have the same belief system as I do. It is fun to hook up with my sisters in faith across the country, women how live in the Philippians, Spain, New Zealand, Australia or even my own home country, Germany. I am having a blast with that.

And lastly, because I would like to write devotions at one point in my life and my blog is my ‘training’ ground. I hope to be an encouragement to other believers who might struggle with their walk. To share that they are not alone and it is okay to struggle. That is why God wants us to be part of a community of believers. To pray for each other, to encourage each other…

Yeah, those are the reasons why I blog on Sting my Heart – blogging about my faith and the hope I have. And I keep finding new ways to pursue my passion – like a laptop I have borrowed from my Sweetheart – at least we are in the same room now…
So, why do you blog? Care to share?

Don’t judge…

…the book by its title. No, it really is not a book, but a new blogroll, just for women.

You see, last weekend I requested to be added to the Blogging Chick’s Blogroll with My Lighter Side (thank you Michele for adding me so quickly ). Well, I thought – Blogging Chick’s would not accept Christian Bloggers. HELLO! – What was I thinking!! Sometimes I just have the weirdest thoughts – believe me – you don’t want to know! Anyway, come to find out that Michele is a Christian woman blogger herself. When I went to her blog the first time, I was totally reminded of Beth Moore’s Bible study “To Live is Christ” – check out the header. If you have done Beth’s study – you know what I mean.

Anyway – check out the blogroll!!!! There are quite a few of your favorite bloggers on there. Want to join as well? Visit the Blogging Chick’s main blog and find out more details. Hope to see you on the blogroll soon.

Carnival and a New Site

Well it is carnival time again and Blair at Scribblings by Blair is hosting this week. Wahoo! When you stop by Blair’s place, would you be so kind and leave a comment of encouragement. She is a little sad right now, because Erik took his responsibilities at his new job and left his sweet family behind. I really would appreciate it.

On another note: Vicki at Windows to My Soul is celebrating Open House this week at her new dwelling place ‘Light for a Writer’s Soul‘. Vicki was the first blog I had discovered last year when I started blogging. Every time I stop by Windows to My Soul, I leave refreshed. She is a wonderful encourager and always shares wisdom from God’s word. So stop by her new site and leave a comment or two.

And last but not least – yours truly is joining the work force again. I received a call out of the blue.

Believing God Is Who He Says He Is (does that sound familiar to some of my readers?). To Him all Glory, Honor and Praise.

Have a blessed day in the Lord…~ Eph2810
