“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing…'” Matthew 15:4-5
Check out Christian Women Online this month. Not only have they wonderful articles each month, by wonderful Christian columnists, but they have started a ‘meme’. Yeah, a meme. Fridays you can ‘pick-up’ a quote and ponder on it until Tuesday and submit your thoughts…In “Other Words” …This week’s quote is by Audrey Giorgi: “Once in a while you have to take a break and visit yourself”.
It really took me awhile to think about it. First, I have never heard this quote before. Second, visiting myself? How can I visit myself? Does is mean to search my soul? To really look deep inside me what I am thinking? Hm…
If it means to have some time to myself, well, there is really not much time for that. I would need like 48 hours to get all accomplished AND have time that I spend with the things I love to do.
I like blogging, I like photography, I like leading Bible studies, I like cooking and I love spending quality time with my Sweetheart…But that is really not what the quote means? Or does it? I actually see ‘visit myself’ to rejuvenate and getting strength to make it through the day. I love to stay in His Word. Actually, this morning I set the alarm for 15 minutes earlier to have more time for my devotion, to have quiet time. I like Saturday mornings too. The house is quiet until about 9am and I can just have that time to ‘myself’ and get refreshed. I started ‘stealing’ some time during my lunch break to ‘work’ through a Bible study…You see, without Him, I can’t keep going the pace I am going…The day is just too long to go without some time without Him…Yeah, I guess that is how ‘I visit myself’…rejuvenate!
