Guess Who?

I was in total shock yesterday when I opened my Inbox for my ‘blog email’. Guess who left a comment on my blog? No other than Darlene Schacht, the founder of Christian Women Online. Now that made my day .

Have you been to their website yet? It is great! Please do check it out. CWO also has a contest going: “The Father’s Heart“. You can win $100. I sure will enter this contest and try to win (but then again, there are better writers out there than I ever will be – lol). You know, this would be such a great contest for me to win, because me dad was a huge influence on me. He was a godly man and taught me the true values of life. I just wish he would be still around. He passed away at the age of 52 on March 23, 1991 – so almost 15 years ago. He would turn 68 this year *sigh*.
Oh, I am so sorry, I totally got sidetracked here. So, check out the contest for yourself and the rest of the Christian Women Online website.

Darlene has also her own blog, called “What Would Jesus Blog” – check it out. You also can find her link in My Personal Reads…

Carnival of Beauty – Gentleness

Carnival LogoGentleness, a fruit of the Spirit as we read in Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (NIV ~ emphasis mine)

This is my first time ever to host a carnival. It was such a great honor to be the first one to read all 10 essays by these incredible Christian women. Pull up a chair, get your fav coffee/tea/cider and read their thoughts on ‘Gentleness’, the theme of this week’s Carnival of Beauty.

  • Yee-haw! It’s Stock Show and Rodeo time in Fort Worth, Texas! Join Carol for a wild ride over at She Lives as she compares breaking a horse to the fruit of the Spirit. After all, She’s a Bronc, y’all!
  • Barbara of Tidbits And Treasures reminds us that gentleness should be part of our lives always, spilling over to others in her assay titled “Gentleness“.
  • In her post, Listening for the Whisper, Heather of Mom 2 Mom Connection ponders how the voice of God often comes to us gently, as in a whisper. She reminds us how the prophet Elijah had to journey to a quiet place to hear God’s voice — like we must do within our hearts.
  • In the attempt to read the Bible through this year, Michele of Chasing Contentment got bogged down in Numbers. She can’t seem to go on. She sees the need to push through these Old Testament books that wear her down, as she is Searching for the Gentle One she encounters in her heart.
  • Patricia Ann describes the beauty of gentleness that is seen in those who will lay down their power and strength in service to those who are weak and less powerful as an act of love and obedience in her assay “The Beauty of a Gentle Giant“.
  • Iris at Eph2810 reminds us that we are His light in this world. Let Your Light Shine as we ask the Holy Spirit to be our guide during a heated argument.

Thank you Ladies for your participation. I was thrilled to read your thoughts on Gentleness. Also, a huge thank you to Sallie at Two Talent Living creating this wonderful carnival.

Next week’s Carnival of Beauty is hosted by Bethany of A Picturesque Life. The theme for next week is ‘Contentment’. Hope to see you at Bethany’s place.

My usual Wednesday post will resume next week…
