Thankful Thursday ~ Ministry

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes…” ~ Ephesians 4:11-14 (ESVemphasis mine)

Over the last couple of week’s I have thought a lot about Greg Laurie’s ministry in California. Not only is Pastor Laurie an author, a pastor to a large congregation, but he is also a well known evangelist.

After his son Christopher died, I thought that Pastor Laurie would cancel the upcoming crusade in California. But not so…What a strong leader; what a strong family. I am so very thankful for the commitment Pastor Laurie (and his family) to keep spreading God’s Word here in the US.

I understand that times have been tough for a lot of us; high gas-prices, rising food cost, some family members loosing their job…(water damages…)

Even if you can not sponsor Bibles or a seat to any of the US crusades, would you consider praying for Harvest Ministry? Pray for people who need to hear His Word that they may come to one of the crusades?

If you have never heard about Harvest Ministry, just click on the logo below and you will find all kind of information about crusades and how you can get involved…

Southern California Harvest 08 with Greg Laurie

I know this is a very different Thankful Thursday, but Harvest Ministry has been very close to my heart for many years…Spreading God’s Word and making Him known in the world is all that matters. So I am very thankful for ministries like Harvest…

What are you thankful for this week? Would you care to share? Please leave your link to your blog below…

Thank you for stopping by today …and don’t forget – we are all called to share His Word with the world – in small and in big ways 😛 …

A Book Drawing & A Butterfly

My friend Tiffany at “Tea with Tiffany” has a wonderful interview with Liz Curtis Higgs. Liz and Tiffany talk about Grace…Grace is something that I need daily. How about you?

Tiffany is also giving away the wonderful book “Embrace Grace – Welcome to the Forgiven Life” by Liz Curtis Higgs. One of my favorite quotes from this book is: “Wherever you are spiritually, whatever you have been through emotionally, you are already wrapped in the Lord’s embrace. Held close by nail-scarred hands. Enfolded in the arms of One who believes in you, supports you, treasures you, and loves you.” I think that would make a wonderful quote of digital LO 😛 …

If you would like to have a chance to win the book, please stop by Tiffany’s blog. I know you don’t want to miss the interview.

And now my sweet friends, I have to show you my first butterfly (in focus and living color) photo. I was thrilled it turned out this way. We spend a couple hours on Sunday afternoon at the Desert Botanical Garden. Well, one of the photos turned out wonderful (okay – I am bias 😆 )…So, I ask you. What do you think (and yes that is real butterfly)?

Living Intentionally ~ April’08 ‘Check-In’

I don’t know what happened last month 😳 – I missed the date to share my thoughts on Living Intentionally. But this month I made sure that I will not forget. My desktop calender has been reminding me since Saturday to write my update.

It is fun to review the goals that you might have/had for the year.

I know that I had mentioned in January that I would like to expand Laced with Grace. Although the Lord has graced us with wonderful new writers, for some reason I don’t seem to have the green light for the expansion – not yet anyway. I am holding fast on Jeremiah 29:11.

Yesterday I needed to scrap a faith-LO. Yes, I needed to. The funny thing is how fast it came together. Sometimes I need to doodle for hours to get all the elements in place, to have the right colors and photos. But that one came together in no time 🙂 . God has ways to make things clear in my head – even if it is only to create a scrapbook LO. Although “I” wanted to expand Laced with Grace, God is expanding Thankful Thursdays instead – just amazing. But why should I be surprised – God is God and His ways are much higher than my own.

The other two things I wanted to share in my up-date for this month are RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) and meeting with the Lord on a daily basis.

Meeting with the Lord every day is wonderful. Although I have read my Bible on a regular basis for years, the past six month I have been ‘tackling’ one book of the Bible each month. I am currently reading the Book of Acts. Wow – amazing what I am gleaning this time around. I had lead a study at my church on the book, but now it is ‘just’ the Lord and me. Last week I was blown away about the boldness the first century Christians had. The actually prayed for boldness (you can find it in Acts 4). Hey – maybe I should start praying for boldness?!? Today I read Saul’s conversion – just powerful 🙂 . Saul’s conversion only shows us that God can and will use anyone (even His enemies) to give feet to the Gospel.

My last point I want to share with you this month are RAK’s. You know that it is very simple to be kind to anyone around you? Although I still need to make a conscientious decision to be kind randomly (to strangers), it slowly is becoming a daily habit. Why not let someone in line at the register before you – even though you were there first? Why not let someone pull out of a driveway on a busy road, so they can get where they need to go…Just little things. It is fun – try is sometimes 🙂 .

Well, I better let you all go so you can read the other up-dates (head on over to Elisa’s Extravagant Grace) . I leave you with a passage from Paul’s letter to the Colossians.

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience…” ~ Colossians 3:12 (ESV)

Thank you for stopping by today. Have a blessed, fabulous Tuesday, my dear friends…

And the Winners are?

First – I want to thank my long-time readers and first-time visitors for making my 3rd bloggy-anniversary such a joy. I am so thankful that the Lord is using my little blog to perhaps encourage others in their walk with Him. Although I might not always have answers to life’s hard questions, but I know that I can trust Him leading the way. Sharing that with my readers has always been my goal.

Some of my readers I know almost as long as I have been blogging. One particular blogger comes to mind – Vicki. Vicki has been so encouraging to me in my first year of blogging. I thought I was the only one who wanted to share her faith with the ‘world’. But then I met Vicki from “Windows to My Soul“. Vicki, I want to thank you for your encouraging words 😛 . His light shines through you.

Okay, enough holding the suspense. Here are the winners of this year’s bloggy-anniversary give-away (as always I used the Custom Random Number Generator) – drum-roll please:

Congratulations Ladies. I am grateful that you have stopped by. I will be contacting you via email to get your snail-mail address.

Please make sure to stop by tomorrow, April 1st for a couple announcement regarding Laced with Grace and CWO.

Now I am off to catch up with the Thankful Thursday ‘bunch’ 😉 . Have a blessed Monday…
