Lots of Things Happening…

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was quiet around here this weekend – wet outside, but cozy and warm in our four walls. I got my house all cleaned up, laundry washed, read my Bible, read several chapters of “The Mom Complex” (did you Darlene is really funny?), listened to sermon(s). drove our son to work and picked him up….I guess I was busy .

I just wanted to share a few things that are going on in the blogsphere…

  • Please visit Laced with Grace tomorrow morning and read what my dear friend, Sissy has to share with you. I pray that it is as encouraging to you as it to me…
  • My friend Laurel, will be hosting “In Other Words” this week. The quote she has selected:

“You act more like a Christian by your influence on the lost, then the save people you impress.” – Dr. Alvin Reid

If you need a little background on the quote, please read his article “Being like Jesus ~ Part 2” (very compelling). I pray you will find the time to join us on Tuesday…

  • Darlene created a wonderful page to leave your prayer requests…She is also looking for prayer warriors to join the team. So please check it out – okay?

  • Would you like to ‘meet’ some new bloggers? Than this blog-party is for you…

    Ultimate Blog Party

I pray that you will have a blessed week and seek Him when you are stressed, down and need encouragement…

Were you there?

CWO Tuesday Meme

“Wherever you are spiritually, whatever you have been through emotionally, you are already wrapped in the Lord’s embrace. Held close by nail-scarred hands.” (quote from ‘Embrace Grace‘)
~ Liz Curtis Higgs ~

I have to admit, I am an audio-visual gal…I am the closest to God through songs. I know – strange. There is one song in our current hymnal, that for the life of me I can not finish singing. Not because I don’t like the song — no, I love it. The words just cut to my heart and when we start the second stanza, I am in tears. Oh, you are wondering which song I am talking about? Glad you asked…”Were you there?”. Let me share with you the second stanza:

“Were you there when they nailed him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree?”

We usually sing the song during the Lenten season, which is already a season of reflection. When we sing the song — well, I kind of loose it completely…bawling like a baby. I visualize that my sins hang with Him on the ‘tree’. He took the nails that I deserved! All I can think off how much He suffered, because I am a rotten apple. But He loved me so much, that He did what needed to be done so I will be able to spend eternity with Him…

This maybe will freak you out, but you know, when I get to heaven, the first thing I want to do it touch His nail-scarred hands. There is nothing more beautiful to me than the Hands that saved me from eternal damnation…Yes, Lord, I embrace the grace You have extended to me – I love You, Lord! I just wish that more people would embrace Your gift…

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” ~ Romans 5:1-2 (ESV)

Do you embrace the grace He has given you today? Please share with me…Blessings on your day and as always…

Thankful Thursday ~ Promises

What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“The Lord’s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over.” ~ Psalm 12:6 (NLT)

  • I am thankful that God’s promises are pure, pure like silver as the above passage tells us. It is wonderful to be able to rely on Him…
  • I am thankful for Shamus’ and Heather’s new site ‘The Narrow Gate‘ which will help me to stay on task with my Bible reading plan for this year. You see, it is all about accountability…
  • I am thankful that I am allowed to host “In Other Words” this upcoming Tuesday. I chose a quote from Liz Curtis Higgs’ book “Embrace Grace“. You can pick it up at CWO tomorrow, Friday, January 5th. I hope you will like it as much as I do. I think that God’s grace will be a ‘theme’ for me this year – I know, it should always be, but we seem to forget (okay I forget) that His grace is amazing…
  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart helps me at night to clean up the kitchen. BTW – we have been together for 25 years. We met on January 2nd 1982…
  • I am thankful that I have health and dental insurance again. It was a long time coming…

What are you thankful for this week? Do you have promises to hold on to? I would love to hear from you today .

Blessings on your day and as always…
