November Issue

Yeah – I know. I break the rules for Wordless Wednesday (once again) this week. As you know, I normally post 100% of my own photography on WW, but this week I just had to link to my favorite on-line Magazine:

CWO November Issue

My friend Darlene from CWO Ezine interviewed my favorite female Christian artist ~ Darlene Zschech. You can read the entire interview here (or click on the cover page above). Darlene has the most powerful voice I have ever heard. I love listening to her when I drive to/from work. You can just hear in Darlene’s songs Who the focus is in her life. I am sure that you have heard (and sang) the song that made her famous: Shout to the Lord! I hope you will check out the interview and learn a little more about this amazing artist who has dedicated her voice to glorify God.

Have a wonderful and blessed Wednesday .

“Has someone seen the life I planned?
It seems it’s been misplaced
I’ve looked in every corner
It’s lost without a trace…”
~ Beth Moore~
From the poem: “The Life I Planned”

What a fitting quote for my life! When I married my husband some 20+-years ago, I never would have thought that I would end up living in the United States. I had planned a life in Germany with my family — for the rest of my earthly life. Work part-time, keep my house in order, read when I have free time – do ‘girly’ stuff with my mom and sister — like shopping, meeting for coffee & cake, or just girl-talk.

But God had other plans for my life and the life of my family. He up-rooted me from where I felt comfortable (maybe too comfortable?) to show me a life that is grounded in Him and His promises. A life that is set-apart from my personal plans to glorify His name.

One of my favorite books by Beth Moore (I think it is actually my favorite), is “To Live is Christ: Embracing the Passion of Paul“. Just think about Paul’s background! I am sure that his plans were far from what God’s plan was for him. Paul’s plan was to eradicate Christians — God’s plan: a witness to the Gentiles. Wow! When I think about the times He called me to do something and I didn’t listen – Yikes! I usually follow Him, but sometimes I make a detour….

I am not sure what God’s plan is for me life, but I do know this:

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
~ Galatians 2:20 (ESV)

What better plan for my life than God’s plan. I pray that I don’t take too many detours…

“It doesn’t matter what is behind you as much as
it matters who is beside you.”
~ Ellen ~
Laced with Grace

Okay – I have to admit: I most likely cling to His arm when I am in trouble. Trouble that is heart-breaking, gut-wrenching and totally devastating.

Yes, I was at the bottom several times in my life (I am sure there will be more of those ‘bottom-times’) — The worst time was last year when my marriage was is major trouble. I will skip all the details. Lets just say: I was very selfish. I thought that I needed to serve my Lord in the “lime-light”. I should have served my family instead — especially my husband.

I am just glad that I had someone Who was walking beside me and hit me over the head; although ever so gentle — He nudged me in the right direction. He taught me that I needed to change. To be more like Him. To be patient, forgiving and respectful. I am not saying that I am perfect. I think that I will never be perfect this side of heaven. I don’t know what would have happened if He wouldn’t have been there –at my side. I really don’t want to think about it either. As I continue to grow in His grace, I am happy that I can depend on Him to be there for me. In good times and in bad…

“One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.
For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.” ~ Psalm 27:4-6 (ESV)

Tag Mania

Kind of funny how tags work. I didn’t get tagged for weeks/months? Now I am answering two tags. Here are my answers to Barbara’s and On the Rock tag:

Barbara tagged me with the 4 Word Meme. Basically one person tags a a few others to give their definitions or what comes to mind for 4 particular words, then that person tags other people with 4 different words. Barbara gave me the words boggle, images, wheels and Bible (like the last one). I thought that I would first give you Webster’s definitions and then add my own thoughts to it – how is that?

Boggle ~ Webster says: a) to start with fright or amazement : be overwhelmed; b) to hesitate because of doubt, fear, or scruples. — I have to admit, I do get boggled sometimes. Most of the time it is my own fault though. I get overwhelmed when I put too much on my daily plate. If I don’t get everything done I have set out to do, I get frustrated, thus I am boggled. Note to self: “Don’t put too much on your daily plate”!

Images ~ Webster says: the optical counterpart of an object produced by an optical device (as a lens or mirror) or an electronic device b : a visual representation of something: as (1) : a likeness of an object produced on a photographic material (2) : a picture produced on an electronic display (as a television or computer screen) — Wow, how technical can you get with a definition? I picked this one (there are 5 additional definitions) because I like taking images. Mostly I take images of non-moving objects. I am not so good with people and animals (yet). My favorite object: sunsets in San Carlos — you should see my collection .

Wheels ~ Webster says: (Well there are 10 definitions, but I chose only one): a circular frame of hard material that may be solid, partly solid, or spoked and that is capable of turning on an axle. — My car has wheels, four outside and one inside. Without those wheels I would not get anywhere – hehe.

Bible ~ Webster says: Capitalized a) : the sacred scriptures of Christians comprising the Old Testament and the New Testament ) b: the sacred scriptures of some other religion (as Judaism). — To be honest with you, I didn’t know that Judaism the Book of books is also called Bible. I thought it was called The Books of the Torah. This was very interesting for me to learn. For me personally the Bible the His comfort, His strength, His love, His mercy…I consult/read the Bible on a daily basis.

Who do I tag with the one? No sure. The bloggers I usually tag, don’t answer them…But I will give it a shot: Sissy, Jen, Debbie and Jamie? My words for you: hope, fun, future and bill.

On the Rock’s tag is called Five for Five. The questions are:

1) Five Minutes to yourself. How would you spend them ideally? ~ Only 5 minutes? I would say, read a chapter of “When Perfect isn’t enough…” by Nancy Kennedy.
2) Five Dollars to spend right now. How or where would you spend it? ~ A Frappuccino for my Sweetheart.
3) Five items in your house you could part with right now? ~ TV, dining room chairs (they hurt my tush), some books, old dishwasher, and dirty laundry.
4) Five items in your house you absolutely, positively could never part with? My Sweetheart, Bible, bed, washer, PC.
5) Five words you love? ~ Not sure if I love those word, but I sure use them a lot: salvation, hope, yikes, really?, and love.

Well, the questions to this tag were pretty easy, but who am I going to tag? Lets see: Carol, Amydeanne, Christie, Chrixean, and Beckie?

BTW – one of favorite weekly memes is “In Other Words“. Hope to see you at CWO this week…

Have a blessed Sunday.
