Thankful Thursday ~ Blessings & Winners

“Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall! Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!” ~ Psalm 144:15 (ESV)

Please visit my friend Laurel at Laurel Wreath’s Reflections to add your link to the Thankful Thursday Linky 😛 …I promise – I will be back soon. I just miss it too much–the community and the blessings I receive when reading your Thankful Thursday posts.

As promised, the winners for my little giveaway are being announced this morning. As I was thinking about how richly the Lord has blessed me, I thought ‘Why just one winner’? Well, I though 3 is a great number – you know – Trinity, 3 Strands…So without further ado – the winners are: Amanda (#20 – sorry no blog link); TNChick (#18) and Jenileigh (#23). The winners were randomly selected by the ‘Custom Random Number Generator‘. Congratulation Ladies…I will send you an email to get your snail-mail address so you can enjoy the gifts before Christmas.

Now you are all wondering if I went nuts giving out 3 prizes. Like I said — the Lord truly has blessed me. So why not share the blessings? Not only have I survived the training, but also sickness. I haven’t been sick for quite some time, but Sunday night I got to shivers…I had to stay home from work on Monday. I felt lousy.

Oh – one more thing. Last month I have scrapped like crazy. I didn’t know I had it in me. Guess what – I won every non-commercial kit that was in the Gotta Pixel Store on or before November 30th. That is huge!!!! And I landed another CT spot – this time with Wendy from Neverland Scraps. The best. Wendy is also a Christian, just like Michelle. God is good – He knows where to place me 😛 .

And my Sweetheart is fantastic as always (told you – I miss Thankful Thursday and blogging 😀 )…He is so sweet — he loves me the way I am – the good and the bad…

So, I hope to see you all over at Laurel’s place this week. Until then, blessings to you and yours this Holy season.

Thankful Thursday ~ Relationships

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” ~ Psalm 28:7 (ESV)

This week I have been thinking a lot about relationships…off-line and online. So I thought I will share a list of the wonderful relationships the Lord has blessed me with…

  • Thank You Lord for giving me the opportunity to commune with You every.single.day. Thank You for sending Your Son to die for my sins in order that I have a close relationship with You…
  • Thank You Lord for restoring my relationship to my husband over 2 years ago. He is my best friend, lover, confidant…
  • Thank You Lord for a wonderful relationship with our son. Although he no longer lives at home, he calls, visits and is very much relaxed about it all…
  • Thank You Lord for bringing women into my life that are there to pray, support and lift me up when ever I need it…
  • Thank You Lord for a great resources like Christian Women Online. Women can meet and find other women that think alike…
  • Thank You Lord for wonderful co-workers that stand up for each other and help each other out…
  • Thank You Lord for bringing women together every Thursday to share their thanks and blessings with each other…
  • Thank You Lord for the wonderful blogging teams at Laced with Grace and CWO’s Internet Cafe

What are you thankful for today? Please to share with us in leaving your link below. As your time permits, please visit other participants.

Thankful Thursday has been a huge part of my online life for almost 2 years now, especially the past 8 months. I love it and I thank the Lord every Thursday for your participation.

Many things have been going on in my life (as in all our lives), especially work. I have been working long hours that resulted in frying my brain pretty much every night. I had some other issues, but I don’t want digress (well, this is harder than I thought 😆 )…All I wanted to say is that I will be taking an extended blogging break here on Sting My Heart.

I am very thankful that three of my very dear online friends are willing to host Thankful Thursday during my absence. Thank you Laurel, Lynn and Crystal for not letting Thankful Thursday ‘die’.

I pray and hope that you, my dear readers, will continue with Thankful Thursday during this time. I still will be posting on Laced with Grace and CWO’s Internet Cafe…I hope to see you there…

Thank you so much for stopping by today to share you thankfulness with us this week.

Blessings on your day and as always…

What a Privilege

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” ~ Colossians 3:12-14 (ESV)

You know, it is a huge privilege to be part of a ever growing Christian blogging community. When I started blogging over 2 1/2 years ago, this was not the case. You had a few women who shared their faith on-line. There were always men blogging about their faith…but not many women. I am not sure what has changed, but I am loving it. If you sit down and really think about of what we are doing, sharing so openly on the world-wide-web, it leaves me speechless.

What truly is amazing to me though, is that we, as women, truly are a community of believers. We are not ‘hanging out’ our labels of denomination, but we are sharing Him, who loved us so much that He even died for us. We share faith, not doctrine. How cool is that? Isn’t that want Jesus would like to see? I think so. His Spirit dwells richly in the Christian women community. I praise Him for that.

Now you are wondering what inspired this Sunday post. An award that was given out to Sting my Heart over the past couple of weeks. Laurel, Elisa, Sharon (SWAW),Sharon (Quit Reflections), and Christian Moms Alliance saw it fit to give Sting my Heart this award:

mathetes award

“Mathetes is the Greek word for disciple, and the role of the disciple (per the Great Commission) is to make more disciples. In the spirit of this award, the rules are simple. Winners of this award must pick five other “Disciples” to pass it on to. As you pass it on, I just ask that you mention and provide links for (1) this post as the originator of the award (Dan King of management by God), (2) the person that awarded it to you, and then (3) name and sites of the five that you believe are fulfilling the role of a disciple of Christ…”

I am very honored to receive this award. I am glad that God is using my writings to encourage, disciple, and hopefully have a closer walk with our Lord and Savior.

Now to giving this award to others. Many of you have already received this award, so let me think…

  • Carol at She Lives — she is for me the Titus women Paul speaks about in his Titus 2 passage. I am glad that Carol is back blogging. Maybe a little lighter than before, but I am happy with anything she shares with us 🙂
  • E-Mom at Chrysalis — she always shares wonderful articles with us. I am thrilled that she has taken over “Marriage Mondays” (created by Christine at Fruit in Season) that will be hosted once a month.
  • Cyndi at One Day More — she is so inspiring to me with home-schooling her children; going on mission trips to share His Word with people around the world.
  • Leigh at Speaking Thru Me — she is someone who always makes me smile when I visit. Her posts are like what cheerleaders do when they ‘fire on’ the team.
  • Ruth at It’s True, sighed roo — she has such a sweet spirit. Some of her post of faith and following Him just blow me away.

There are so many other women out there that inspire me when they share their walk with Him, so I could have kept going…but I guess I have to follow the rules.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of God’s community. Be blessed today and as always…

A Winner & A Thank You

I love God — but then again, you knew that (I hope)…What I love about Him today is that when I used the Custom Random Number Generator to determine who will ‘win’ the purse, number 11 came up–Kelly at I Will Learn to Fly. When I looked at the sidebar, the first thing that I saw was this: “On 6/6/06 my husband, Mark, lost his job. We are determined to turn this trial into triumph… We believe it is an opportunity to grow in faith and to give glory to our God. We believe that someday we will be able to look back and say, “that was the best thing that ever happened to us”. We know that God will use it for His good and if we are obedient to Him, He will care for our every need.”

Kelly, I am so happy that you have won this little purse. Please leave me a comment in this post, so I can contact you to get your snail-mail address…

Well, and of course I had to share a little LO with you 😀 . Although our son forgot my birthday this year, I was blessed beyond words. Not only because of the sweet gifts I received, but all the sweet comments, prayers and notes via email blessed me so much. Thanks to all my readers, and a special thanks to Laurel, TNChick, Mugs of Truth and my Sweetheart (yeah – he has a photo-blog; check it out–he is a great photographer 😛 )
