Thankful Thursday ~ Providence

Ha – so my post from last week disappeared, except the Bible passage and the links to the participants. I wonder what happened? I tell you – this blogging business can be very tricky. I wonder if I can find my post from last week…

This week I am thankful for His provision in my life. It boggles my mind sometimes how generous our Lord is. Specifically I am thankful for…

  • Thank you Lord for given me Your Word so I may always find the comfort I need when I am down…

  • I am thankful that the Lord is helping me to keep focus what is really important in life. Although my job is really demanding and I don’t agree with some of what is happening, I am content (only through prayer…)…

  • I am thankful for our house, food, running water. I always take these things for granted, but there are some without…

  • I am thankful that the Lord grants me health. I have seen so many people being sick – I have been fairly healthy all my life…

  • I am thankful that the Lord gave me thoughts on a devotion I wrote on Monday night. I was totally empty, but He filled me up – thank you sweet Jesus…

  • I am thankful that I had patience to up-grade the devotional blog manually last weekend (although it gave me some more gray hairs…). I don’t like messing with up-grades, but they are necessary…

  • I am thankful that the Lord provided some additional writers for Laced with Grace. I will let you know next week who the new writers are 😛 . I am also thankful that one of my sweet friends will be returning to write for Laced with Grace next month. Laurel – it means a lot to me that you are…

  • And last but not least I am thankful that the Lord has placed such a patient husband by my side…

Thankful Thursday ~ Glory

My friend Laurel had a quote on her blog last week that really struck a cord with me. The quote was about ‘Glory’…I could not stop thinking about the quote by Paul David Tripp (see the quote on Laurel’s blog here). Do you know how Webster defines glory? Definition 1a) praise, honor, or distinction extended by common consent : renown b: worshipful praise, honor, and thanksgiving (giving glory to God)…I tell you – there is nothing better than to praise His name and see His glory 😛 …This week I am thankful for…

  • ..the Glory of the Cross – yes to some it might be offensive, but to me and all who believe – it is Glory in the highest…

  • …releasing something to God that had me in the stronghold for such a long time. Glory to Him Who set me free from it. It is wonderful to let go of things and leave it at the food of the Cross, finally…

  • …my MP3 player. Now you are thinking “huh”? Oh, I just love to sing His praise when listening to music. Last week I stepped outside with my MP3 player blaring “Mighty to Save”. It good my feet dancing in the backyard (I think hubby though I lost it). But what can you do when something just was made clear to you through His Word? Nothing but dancing – right?…

Thankful Thursday ~ Prayer

“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.” ~ Ephesians 6:16-18 (ESV – emphasis mine)

I am not sure what happened between last Thursday and this week. Everything seems like a blur to me. I am very sorry that I have not made it to all of your posts this past week (only about 80%) – I will try to do better this week.

Over the last couple of weeks, the subject of prayer kept coming up…so I thought to share my thankfulness about prayer with you…

  • I am thankful that our Lord, Jesus Christ, made a way that we can approach the throne of grace 24/7-365. Because of His blood we have a ‘direct-connect’; no voice-mail…

  • I am thankful that God hears our prayers. Although I might not ‘like’ His answer, I know that His answer is always perfect…

  • I am thankful that I have friends who will lift me up in prayers when ever I need them…thanks Lynn, TNChick and Laurel 🙂 …

  • I am thankful that my friends approach me when they are in need of prayers…

  • I am thankful for prayer sites like “PrayItCards“. They have wonderful prayer-cards that you can pray for family, friends and perfect strangers…

  • I am thankful for Sharon sharing this wonderful prayer couple weeks ago. I just love it and hope to memorize this prayer for my morning prayers…

  • Last but not least I am thankful I have found this wonderful prayer guide to pray for my beloved…Thank you Denise and Shari for sharing it on your blogs…
