Thankful Thursday ~ Praise

Although today was a rather frustrating day at work and some minor glitches with my web-hosting company, I choose to praise His name. His name is above any other name – the King of kings – Lord of lords. Here is my thankful list for this week–chime in with me 😛 …

  • I am thankful that the Lord puts a new song on my lips every single day. No matter how the day goes, how yucky I might feel…He alone is worthy of my praise

  • I am thankful that I received Crystal’s CD yesterday in the mail — oh, girls, if you have not ordered yet, I encourage you to get it. Praising Him with Crystal is something worth while…

  • I am thankful that Darlene had encouraging words for me over the last couple of days. Speaking of Darlene…She has a neat little contest going on her blog AND you can win an IPod Shuffle. Check it out …

  • I am thankful that I am able to take a shower anytime I like…

  • I am thankful that we have food on the table every.single.day …

  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart still loves me and desires me, even though I’ll be 47 in four week *sigh*…

  • I am thankful that I have a roof over my head and don’t have to sleep under the stars…

  • I am thankful for friends who are encouraging and praying for me, especially when I am down …

  • AND of course I am very, very thankful that my vacation is nearing — only 4 more weeks to go YEAH!!!!

Thankful Thursday ~ Dancing

“‘Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me! O Lord, be my helper!’
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!” ~ Psalm 30:10-12 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)

How awesome is our God that He turns our mourning into dancing? What really surprised me this week is that the song “Blessed be Your Name” has had not only impact on me, but many other Christian women 🙂 …Yes, I had (have) struggles this summer, but I choose to praise Him — no matter what the circumstances…Okay – I start rambling right now. Here is my thankful list for this week:

  • I am thankful that God will use our ‘low’ moments (desert dwellings/wilderness wanderings) to bring us into a closer relationship with Him–strengthens us in the process…

  • I am thankful that God is able to use the devotional teams at LWG and CWO for His glory. Sometimes it is painful to share our hearts, but if He can use it to encourage others, we are more than happy to share our life with you…

  • I am thankful that God has allowed me to turn my blogging into a ministry. Who would have thought that. I know that some of my real life friends don’t understand that blogging can become a ministry, but thats okay…

  • I am thankful that God opened a door for my creative outlet of Scrapbooking 🙂 – I got my ‘first call’ as a Creative Team member. Marguerite from “Designs by Marguerite” accepted my application to create LO’s with her beautiful kits. Marguerite likes my photography 🙂 – thank you LORD…

  • I am thankful my Sweetheart and I will be on vacation in 5 weeks (believe me — I will share with you the countdown every single week 😉 — hope you don’t get sick of it). We hope to be able to leave town for a couple of days — California coast line…

  • I am thankful that God has given me peace as our son is preparing to move out in a couple of weeks…Although my heart is still a little heavy about it; I know that everything will be okay…

Thankful Thursday ~ Random IV

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Wow, another Thursday 🙂 . Where do the weeks go? I am so looking forward to September–it means VACATION time…You don’t know how much I need one…Anyway, I am thankful that it is Thursday and we are able to share our thankfulness with each other…

  • I am thankful for God’s Word. Every time I get into a stress situation, His Word pops into my heart to calm my fears about the future. I am glad that His word changed my heart on Sunday afternoon…

  • I am thankful that I had some time with my Sweetheart on Saturday — just the two of us. Our son had to work, so it was nice just to hang out and go with the flow…

  • I am thankful that I had a fun time with our son on Sunday afternoon. Just laughing was a good medicine…

  • I am thankful that I am healthy enough to do all the things I am doing…

  • I am thankful for the funny things my Sweetheart says – he makes me laugh out loud – sometimes I even snort, because I am laughing so hard (it can get embarrassing – my snorting – especially in public 😉 )…

  • I am thankful that it has been a little cooler in the mornings…ah – looking forward to fall…

  • I am thankful that I kicked the pop-habit. I started to drink iced-tea – green iced tea…Is that healthy? I don’t know, but certainly is better than pop 😀 …

  • I am thankful that I was able to scrap some pages the last couple of nights — what fun…

  • I am thankful for all the wonderful awards Sting My Heart received over the last couple of weeks. I will hopefully have a more detailed post on Friday about it. Thank you, Ladies for your generous hearts…

Thankful Thursday ~ Joy

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

Welcome back to Sting My Heart for Thankful Thursday. I was thrilled to see that you all visited my dear friend, Laurel last week. I am sorry that I can not offer you any brownies or coffee today…I do not bake. I know, I know, but that is one thing that I am not good at (among other things 😉 )…

Well, lets see–joy!!!! Laurel mentioned this past week (I forgot which post it was–or was it an email?), that she chooses joy every.single.morning. over her circumstances or moods. I think that is a splendid idea. So, I thought, why not going with that theme for my Thankful Thursday post…BTW, you can have your own theme if you like each week, or join in with me. So here it goes:

  • I am thankful for my Lord and Savior. Even though I mis-step some days more than others, He is still my Savior. How can I not be joyful over that fact…

  • I am thankful that when someone “steels” the joy I have in the Lord serving Him, others will stand in the gap to lift me up. I can count on that. I just have to be open enough to share with others…

  • I am thankful that I had some time last week to catch up on some reading. What a joy it was to read some encouraging words from some incredible writers…Especially Paul’s letters to the churches encouraged me deeply…

  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart went with me to the mall to buy new walking shoes for me. My body will enjoy the exercise while my feet will have great support…

  • I am thankful that Beth Moore is teaching on the book of Romans, which I can listen to once a week for free online at Oneplace.com. I can’t wait till Mondays to listen to the next lesson, pure joy…(btw – visit E-Mom for a wonderful article on Beth)

  • I am thankful that I learned more about Photoshop CS last week too. I really enjoy working with that software to create some neat things, like Scripture passage brushes. I hope to share them with you soon–for free…

  • I am thankful for our two new writers at Laced with Grace. Dana published her first devotional this past Saturday and Bernadine will join the team on the 30th of July. I hope you will embrace them as much as you have embraced the rest of the team. It makes my heart leap for joy to know that God uses the team to encourage you in your walk with Him…

  • Last, but not least, I am thankful for music. It gives me joy to listen to wonderful Christian artists like Crystal (I hope to share some great news with you next week regarding Crystal’s up-coming release) and “Monk & Neagle” (got my free CD this week – great stuff 😛 ) …
