Thankful Thursday ~ Rejoice

“Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.

Yeah – Thankful Thursday again. I know that I haven’t been around much–just needed a little refreshing break. I needed to refocus on a couple of things 😛 . I am glad that the Lord refreshed my soul…I even have a decent post to share over at CWO on Thursday (hope you’ll stop by). I will post the link later tonight to it.

Here is what I am thankful for this week (although there is much more…)

  • I am thankful for God’s love. It was so wonderful to just ‘hang out’ with Him over the last couple of days. Just praying, reading, meditating…my soul longed for it…

  • I am thankful that God is using the Laced with Grace team blog to encourage women from around the globe to have a closer walk with our Lord. For the first time, LWG hit the 2,500 visitor mark last month. Thank you gals for your devotion to Him and your commitment to LWG…

  • I am thankful for EMI Records. They contacted me to listen to some new music. My first little taste was Mandisa’s two tracks from her first CD that will be released in July. I will share more in detail about it hopefully on Friday. All I will share today – POWERFUL voice…

  • I am thankful for fresh fruit. I love cherries and grapes. The are on sale right now in our local grocery store–Yummo…

  • I am thankful that I can drink everything for free at work–coffee, water, soda…at my heart’s delight. Especially since we should be drinking a lot during this hot season. Can you believe we will hit 115 by this weekend – yikes….

  • I am thankful that my dear friend Laurel will be coming back to Phoenix in February…Did you read her post about her brother in sweet Sister-In-Love expecting twins. How cool is that? I am so happy for them…

  • I am thankful that I had time the last couple days to visit an ‘old’ friend’s blog, but also had time to explore a new blog. I am really excited about Leigh’s blog. She not only shares my love for Him, but guess what she sells? Purses. And not just any old purses. Nope…She sells really neat ones with Bible verses on them. Why I am so thrilled? Well check it out:

    Did you see it? One of the purses has my LIFE verse on it (can you guess which one 🙂 ). Hopefully Leigh can ship it as soon as she gets back from a speaking engagement in NC…

Thankful Thursday ~ Blessed

“I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers” ~ Ephesians 1:16 (ESV)

Normally I share my list of thanks with you, but today I want do it a little different. Since my work schedule is very demanding at this time, I don’t have much time to just post how I feel about my readers. As I was driving to work this morning I though “Why not use my thankful post?”…So today, instead of my usual list…

First of all I want to thank Jamie, Darlene, Laurel, Lynn, Terri, Barb and Carol for your continued prayers to keep me focused on Him. When I grow weary and get discouraged, I just have to drop you a note to stand in the gap for me – so thank you…

When I started blogging over two years ago, I never thought that the readership of this Blog would grow to where it is today. I thank God that He has given me the opportunity to share with you my walk with Him.

My walk is not perfect—I fail often. I am not the most eloquent writer either. But you, my beloved readers, don’t mind. You come back to read what I have to share. I know that some of you have never commented; probably never will. That is okay – I know you are reading. That is such a blessing to me—it keeps me going.

What can I say about Thankful Thursday? Oh.my.goodness!!!! It has grown so much over the last four month—not in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would do just that. Not only is our number growing, but because of Thankful Thursday and what you have made it, Sting my Heart was “In the Spotlight” last week at Magical Garden.

I do know that Sting my Heart will never be in the top ten for “Religious Blogs”, but I have the #1 readership! BTW – did you know that the top spots of “Religious Blogs” in Bloggyville are not followers of Christ, but the total opposite? I didn’t know that Atheism is a religion. But then again, what do I know 😉 .

I know that many in Bloggyville do not agree with the message I am sharing on the WWW, but that is okay. I do pray that someone who is searching for the truth about Christ will be encouraged through Sting my Heart. I pray that God will give them the desire to pick-up the Bible to learn that Christ is the Only Way and the message of the Cross is not foolish:

  • “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ~ John 14:6 (ESV)

  • “For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” ~ 1 Corinthians 1:22-25 (ESV)

Thankful Thursday ~ Just Praising

“Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

Believe it or not–it is Thursday again 😛 … God is good–all the time. Yes, sometimes we have to learn to be patient (which is really hard for me at times). He will answer if we call upon His name. So, will you join me in praising His name this week, no matter what you are going through?

  • I am thankful that my weeping might only tarry for the night. I know that God will answer, even if it will take a while. Lord, I praise Your name that You will bring joy in the morning…

  • I am thankful for trails and tribulations. This way I might be able to help someone else if they are going through the valley…

  • I am thankful that a dear friend of mine, who I have not heard from in a while, dropped me a note. Thank you Stacy for remembering me. You don’t know what it means to me…

  • I am thankful for my Sweetheart. He got me some really neat tools to actually print my digi LO–they look really cool in my little book…

  • I am thankful that our son found a new job and will start tomorrow. I know that I just had to be patient (but tell that my head!!!!)…

  • I am thankful for women like Bernadine. She has ‘resurrected’ an old website of hers. It is full of encouragement for women to be. If you know a young girl, have them check out her website “Girl Talk Magazine“…

  • I am thankful for prayers. It is a powerful ‘weapon’ we have…

  • I am thankful for this awesome spring weather we are having here in the desert. Today it didn’t even get up to 100F – Hallelujah!!!!

  • I am thankful for our son for being generous. He bought us a new vacuum cleaner. Yeah – our old one gave out after only 9 months *sigh*. Now our son wants to buy a new washing machine as soon as her gets his first pay-check. Talk about being thankful — on his part and ours…

  • I am thankful for daily dishes. It means that we have food on the table daily…

Thankful Thursday ~ Hope

“Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.”

Yeah – Thursday again. I have to admit, Thursdays are my favorite day of the week. Not only is it close to the weekend, but also gives me the opportunity to be thankful publicly…I hope that my list will not bore you and won’t get too long like last week…

  • I am thankful that I can hope for a better tomorrow. When I search Scripture the word hope comes up 165 times in the ESV Bible…How cool is that!

  • I am thankful for Anti-Spam plugins. I hope that it will not deter you from leaving comments, but I had to install a word verification plugin. The other (non-visual) plugin gave my visitors error messages. I took it off, but oh, dear, I had 149 spam comments in my folder within 24 hours. I hope that the new plugin will work for everyone…

  • I am thankful for our son. I love him dearly and I hope that he soon will find a job that fits his abilities. He has been out of work the last 3 weeks–I know that the Lord has already one for him in mind. I just have to pray, trust and wait…

  • I am thankful for a good annual review at work. I hope that the impending raise and bonus will help us to buy a new wash machine without going into debt. Yeah, our old one makes funny noises. I hope it will last just a little longer…

  • I am thankful for our health in this family. I hope that God continues to watch over us…

  • I am thankful for my Sweetheart. I hope that God continues to grow, teach and leads me to become a best wife I can be…

  • I am thankful for the Thankful Thursday bunch. I hope that I will make to all of you this week. I am so sorry that I didn’t get around to everyone last week…

  • I am thankful for impending vacation. I just hope that I can hold on until September. Girls – I.AM.READY. for vacation…
