Thankful Thursday ~ Community

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. ~ Galatians 6:9-10 (NLT emphasis mine)

  • I am thankful this week for the community of believers. It is incredible how much the on-line Christian community has grown–especially among women this past year…

  • I am thankful for the community of Laced with Grace. I am thankful that Terri is our newest member at the team blog. God truly has blessed me with bringing these women together…

  • I am thankful for the ‘Blog-Party’ that will bring even more women together. The party begins on March 2nd at 5 Minutes for Mom. I hope to see you there…

  • I am thankful for Christian Blogosphere–another network for Christians to exchange links. Head on over to Michele and sign up…

  • I am thankful for Saturday Photo Hunt. I has brought many bloggers together. I love the variety of blogs on the photo hunt–the common denominator: photography…

  • AND I am thankful foremost for Christian Women Online. The largest Christian women community there is on the internet. I love to meet with women from all different Christian backgrounds and get encouraged. Have you seen yet the latest addition to CWO?

Thankful Thursday ~ Praise

“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!”
~ Psalm 30:11-12 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)

  • I am thankful that my Lord does turn my mourning into dancing. If I am down and frustrated, I know that I can turn to Him for comfort–He brings my feet to dancing…

  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart took the time last week to drive out east to take some pictures. That gives me many Wordless Wednesday pictures…

  • I am thankful that I make it to and from work in one piece. I tell ya–some mornings I just want to pull over and walk the rest to work (its just a long way–13 miles each way). Like today…Everyone was but paying attention to traffic. They either drove 10 miles below the speed-limit, put make-up on while driving, talk on the phone, or watch TV…So, that I made without a scratch made me praise for the rest of the day…

  • I am thankful for a wonderful Blogging community. Many make me shout praises that I have ‘met’ them…

  • I am thankful that we always have enough money for food. Although I am not a big eater (my Sweetheart gets mad at me sometimes), there is enough food for my guys…

  • I am thankful that I finally found some time to finish Darlene’s book (review of the book is hopefully written by Sunday). I know I have mentioned it on this blog several times–it is just a great book. Right, Laurel? If you have time today, check out Darlene’s interview with Cindy Swanson. Darlene is fun to listen to ~ eh (sorry Darlene – just couldn’t resist)…

  • I am thankful for the phone-plan we have. It costs my $25 a month and I can call anywhere within the US, Canada and Germany without having to pay/minute…Yeah for flat fees…

Today I would like to ask you for a favor (before you leave your link or comment about your thankfulness). Would you please pray for a couple of on-line sisters? Thankful Thursday ~ Love

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (ESV)

  • I am thankful that God loved me first. Because through His love for me, I can love–love that is pure and true…

  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart loves me despite my flaws…

  • I am thankful that he allows me to blog, even though we pay for it…

  • I am thankful that he is patient with me learning new computer stuff. Without his teachings I don’t think I would know half of it…

  • I am thankful that he screens my phone calls. He really does–it is too funny…

  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart took Valentine’s Day off with me. We had a wonderful, long breakfast together, talked, laughed and watched chick-flicks. And oh, yes, I got red roses…

  • I am thankful that he allows me to take a night off of cooking and order take out (Chinese)…

  • I am thankful that he is who he is! He is my precious gem who God placed in my life…

Heart 3

I love reading 1 Corinthians 13 throughout the year! Although it is a chapter many couples chose to be read at their wedding, I think meditating on it throughout the year keeps us focused what love is truly all about. Put is on your ‘reading schedule’ at least once a month–you won’t regret it! You see, love is not just a feeling, but a commitment.

Thankful Thursday ~ Providence

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” ~ Hebrews 1:3 (NIV)

  • I am thankful that God provided me (and all who believe in Him) with a Way to Heaven. I know that I can’t make it on my own. I could never keep all the commandments without sinning. You know, I have “Sandpaper People” IRL and online…they just rub me the wrong way. But God tells me to love my enemies. With His help I can do that…

  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart is saving faithfully every paycheck. Because of it we were able to purchase a dishwasher without using credit — yeah! We paid CASH! I am so happy – the dishwasher will be delivered on Saturday. The old one is 13 years old and the dishes are not getting clean any longer…

  • I am thankful for freedom of speech and religion. Especially writing on my personal blog. I can share about my faith in Christ, my marriage, my motherhood, my blogging friends, my life in general without being judged (maybe some do, thats okay)…

  • I am thankful that I have a job that helps to pay our bills. Although I was hoping for a different job within the company, I know in my heart that I am where God wants me to be…

  • I am thankful that we always have food on the table — sometimes more than enough…

  • I am thankful for praise music and my car. You wonder why I connect the two? You see, I use my car as my personal sanctuary during the week. It gets me focused on the day ahead in the morning. It helps me to ‘wind-down’ after a long day at the office…
