Thankful Thursday ~ His Word


What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
~ Psalm 119:104-105

  • I am thankful that I have His Word to guide me through this life. Every morning I receive strength reading His Word. Not sure where I would be without it…
  • I am thanful for the massive thunderstorm that rolled through the Valley of the Sun last night. Although many people where without power for a few hours, the rain was much needed. Although it felt like a sauna today.
  • I am thankful that I have a roof over my head and don’t have to worry where to sleep at night.
  • I am thankful for having enough money to redecorate our bedroom…I really enjoy the new colors on my bedspread :smile:.

Thankful Thursday ~ By His Grace


What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
~ Ephesians 2:8-10

  • I am thankful that I am saved by grace through faith. It hit me again the other day. I didn’t need to ‘clean-up’ my act for God to love me. He loved me before I loved Him. Isn’t that a great thing?!? You know, you can come into God’s presence without being good! He makes you good :razz:.
  • I am thankful that I was part of the Blog of Beauty awards. Although I didn’t win an award, I was a joy for me that I made it to the finals this year – thanks to all of my readers. Visit Sallie’s blog to find out who won which award and visit them. There some wonderful blogs out there.
  • I am thankful for my hubby, who cooked dinner on Tuesday night after a ‘Wobble Head” Monday.

What are you thankful for this week? God is Good, all the time!!! Even though you might not think that way in the moment, because you are having a rough day or week or month. Just remember, He is faithful to you and will guide you and if needed He will carry you through…

Thankful Thursday ~ His Strength


What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“I can do everthing through him who gives me strength” ~ Phil 4:13

  • I am thankful for my Lord’s strength these past days at work. I know, I had prayed for a change in my working life, and He sure has given it to me. I am just glad that when I don’t know what else to do or how to react, I can just shut down and let Him take over.
  • I am thankful for bloggers like Diane, who encourage and pray for prodigals. Today she has a wonderful post about a young man who gave his life over to the Lord and the Lord answered in His own way. Sometimes we might not understand His ways, but don’t forget: His ways are higher than our own. Visit Diane today and read her post “Last Words“.
  • I am thankful for my Sweetheart, who without hesitation drove East with me, so I could take pictures of the amazing rugged, Arizona desert. I have shared already a couple pictures here and there and will over the next couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do :razz:.
  • And I am thankful this week for readers like you, who nominated Sting my Heart for the Blog of Beauty Awards. You are wonderful…

Thankful Thursday ~ In His Hands…


What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:7

  • I am thankful for His guidance in my current job. I tell you it is not easy to keep smiling when everyone around you is either grumpy or too busy for a simple “Good morning”. Would you believe me that I ‘hear’ God more often now than when I was working in the church office? Or do I actually listen for His small voice more now? I am just glad that I am in His hands and He guides my heart and mind…
  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart is doing much better tonight. He had, for the second time in two weeks, a dizzy spell last night. The entire room was spinning in front of his eyes. I was ready to throw my jeans back on and drive him to the E.R. (thank you Jamie for the emergency prayer you lifted up)
  • I am thankful for Ruben’s baptism on the 4th of July. What a double celebration! 😛
  • I am thankful for the rain this morning. Although no one seems to be able to drive if it rains in the Valley of the Sun, I made it safe to work…
  • I am thankful for my health and able to work on a daily basis.
  • I am thankful that I able to submit my favorite female bloggers to Sallie for the ‘Blog of Beauty Awards‘
  • And I am thankful that I live in this free country, with internet access and cable TV, so I can watch the German soccer team play in the World Cup (even now they ‘only’ can play for the 3rd place – not bad at all, but then again that is just my humble opinion :razz:)
