You Would Choose Love |
Money may buy a little happiness, but not the happiness of true love. You rather have a true soulmate than a private jet. And while many people may claim they would choose love too… You’re one of the few who would really do it. |
No, I didn’t cheat on the quiz 🙂 – I did marry for love. Money issues is/was never a cause of rift in our marriage. Not even when we were newlyweds. Yes, we had hard times — when we had our son, when we moved to the US, when my Sweetheart went back to school in his early 30’s. We have been blessed — we always made it through the financial hard times. God is Yahweh-Yireh — I have no doubt about that.
Are we rich people? Depends…If I look at people like Mr. Gates – no, we are not rich. If you ask me. Yes, we are rich. We have a roof over our head, we have food on the table every single day, we have money to pay our bills…And I am rich being married to my Sweetheart – Thank you Lord…
“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’”
~ Matthew 6:30-31 (ESV)
Blessings on your Sunday and as always…

Iris,
You give such honor to YHWH in your adoration of your husband. He is blessed to have a Proverbs 31 wife who “makes her husband known in the gates” with words of praise instead of words of complaint. You go girl!!!
Blessings to you.
Iris,
I’ve been stopping by for the last couple days, and reading a little here and there, you are a great woman of God who shows awesome respect for her husband. God Bless you! I’m fairly new to blogging trying to find time to post. Stop by my site if you would like. Have a relaxing Sunday!
Sisters in Christ,
Cathy
I was so much better off financially many years ago than I am now, but I am so much happier married and with God now when money is a bit tighter. Amazing how a bit of humility changes everything.
Thanks for the beautiful posts. I’m looking forward to reading your posts this week.
God bless
I too married for love and have never regretted it even when times were lean. Are we rich by, some standards we are, by the world we are not, but by our Heavenly Father we are who we are. Wealthy beyond measure! Thanks for the love or money question! Too bad many can’t tell the difference!
I married for love…we’ve never had much else ;)…I can’t wait to begin love week tomorrow. 😉
I married for love. My husband truly is my best friend. We had so little starting out, but it didn’t matter because we had each other.
Love is more important than money too, I received the same answer on the quiz.
Iris,
God is our provider and we are RICH indeed! Hugs my friend your words are a sweet offering to the King.
Great thoughts. Yes I am rich in love from tons of family and a wonderful husband.
That is so sweet. You are rich in love, that’s for sure.
It’s been busy days! I finally checked my emails and was so deeply touched to see your ecard for my birthday! I feel so rich just knowing you, a blessed sister in Christ! I continue to be most greatful that you lift us up in your thoughts and prayers concerning our adoption journey! We are certainly seeking God’s Will and wisdom and discernment, and good health for birthmom and baby!
God Bless You:)
I really appreciate this post, especially in a day in time when very little outside of money is regarded as important…….thanks for the reminder!
Blessings
Thanks for that wonderful post. I also like those small quiz-clips a lot 🙂
Have been to a church service yesterday evening and the preaching was about exactly the verse that you wrote, too. How blessed are we, if we can ground our lifes on such a promise and encouragement.
