Retirement Home

Most of my readers know our favorite vacation spot. Of course it is San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico…

For one thing, it is a place where we can drive to from the Metro Phoenix area. Sure it takes 8 hours to get there, but so does San Diego ~ or any place with a water front. You say, why don’t you fly? Well, I am not much for flying ~ just don’t care for it. The only time you’ll see me getting on to a plane is when flying home to Germany. Or someone from a travel Website or magazine would give us a free trip to Bali .

My favorite things about San Carlos are the beach, the sunsets and undisturbed time with my hubby. No phone, no TV…just the two of us.
If you like simple, clean hotels, than Paradiso Resort is for you. The ocean view rooms are reasonably priced or you could even book a special…No, this is not an advertisement …I just really enjoy going there.

For me, this place is a slice of heaven and where I can admire God’s creation. The sunsets seem like paintings…Well, in a sense they are ~ God’s evening paintings…

Do you have a favorite spot you like to retreat to? Or are you vacations all about adventure? For me, vacations are a time to refuel, to relax and live into the day….

  1. Hello Iris, anyone who knows me knows if I can get anywhere in the world it will be to the Ocean. I frequent Florida alot just to be near the ocean. I am saving to cruise to the carribean and hope to do that in the future. I am going to Miami Beach within the next month. This was lovely. Ill let you know when I post using my photographs of the Oceans I have visited.

  2. I love both kinds of vacation–the laying on the beach, or by the pool, or in a scenic spot in the campsite relaxing kinds, but also the see the Eiffel Tower, stroll an unfamiliar city all day long, see site after site. . . . It just depends on the vacation.

  3. This vacation spot sounds wonderful. Any place by the water is great to me. I just feel completely relaxed by the water. You make me want to check this out myself.

  4. so jealous!! I wish I could drive to Hawaii!!! It is my favorite place – but I have to fly to get there – and that is soooo expensive. So we rarely, rarely get to go. I wish I could go every year.

  5. Not really. I mean there are places I’d love to go but we haven’t got to the point where we can go out, just the two of us, to “our place” WHile I love my kids and enjoy them – I do look forward to the time in my future I can do things like this.
