Last Call…

“For we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish.”
~ 2 Corinthians 2:15 ~

Today is your last chance to vote for the Sweet Scent Blog Awards sponsored by Christian Women Online. If you not have casted your votes, please email the editor today. I have visited all the blogs in the finals and have found some wonderful new blogs and added them to my personal blogroll (thank you Christine and Barb for allowing me to link to you).

I also want to apologize to my readers for being such a stinker whiny brat yesterday…My head was just spinning with things that I don’t have control over. I let it get to me. I am usually a pretty positive person, but some days are just a little crazy. And you know what? It is usually when I don’t spend time in His Word. Honest to goodness! When I think I can handle a day starting without Him – the day pretty much stinks. So, note to self “DON’T DO THAT!!!!” I want to thank all of you for your prayers, but especially Sissy, Jamie, Robin and Carol for your kind thoughts via ecard…

You know, maybe E-Mom was right on Monday…Maybe I am already experiencing the empty nest syndrome .

Well, I am doing much better today…It is always great to hold on to His promise:

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.” ~ Joshua 1:5 (ESV)

I hope your day will be blessed. And remember, drink from the Water that never runs dry…

  1. Thanks for stopping by my Wordless Wednesday and Thursday Thirteen. The body of water in the Wordless Wednesday is actually the Detroit River. I’m glad that you’re feeling better! Blessings!

  2. Now that the Fall Semester is over and Spring doesn’t start until January 4th…I am dilengently planning my schedule to make sure I get my daily dose of God’s Word…..for me, that usually entails at least two hours because I use the NLT, KJV, and the NCV and compare everything I read! Heather over at Graced by Christ..http://www.shamusyoung.com/heatherblog/wordpress/ is doing a Bible study on Joshua…you may want to pop over and take a look. I am glad you are feeling better…me too….been so whiny myself lately…it happens. Maybe you are starting to get Empty Nest. I know when my duaghter was about to start middle school I went into a slump…it depressed me that she was growing up and spreading her wings ;)..and so as our children grow we feel that we are no longer needed….however, God still needs us to take care of His children that need us. Does that make sense??

  3. I’m glad you’re feeling better today, Iris. That empty nest syndrome has been lurking in my thoughts for the last year or so. (Our son moved out last spring.) My daughter is still at home but who knows for how long???? Present losses sometime trigger past unresolved losses. Just keep talking about your blues…

I try to be wildly creative (forward-thinking) rather than boringly traditional (backward thinking) at Christmastime. It keeps my good feelings and hope for the future alive. :~)

    Thanks for the link!

  4. I was blessed to find your blog too! Good luck on the awards! And you are of course forgiven for having a lousy day! Goodness, if we didn’t share our ouches every once in a while with this blogging community, we’d think we were a bunch of robots or something!
