Living in the Metro Phoenix area is not easy. You have all kinds of people living here, I am one of them. You go about your daily business anonymously, live your life, show kindness to others (at least I try my best in this hectic, fast paced city).
Well, kindness was returned to me today. I bought a new computer desk for my Sweetheart at Ikea. No problem getting it onto the cart with the help of a friendly employee. But on the way to my car, I already thought: “How in the world will I get this box into my xB?†The room in the xB is not the problem (it has folding back seats), just lifting the 42 kilos (I think it is somewhere around 95lbs). As I kept trying to get this oversized box into the back, a man, who had parked his car three rows behind me, started his car back up, drove over to my row and offered his help. I was so thankful, especially since my knee is already banged up, and on top of it, I banged up my elbow today (I think I might have to invest into some football gear or something to protect myself from myself – LOL)
The reason why I write this little story is, because I was so stunned today, to find people in this city who are willing to put their hectic life on hold for a few minutes, and to lend a helping hand.
At any rate, I am glad that I got the computer desk home in one piece…and my Sweetheart finally has a computer desk instead of a folding table.
I love it! I see stuff like this all the time and I live in the biggest Metro area in Oregon.
I’m the type that if someone drops something I pick it up for them, or in your case I would stop and help someone put things in their car if it was really heavy. I’m so thankful my boys have grown up watching mommy and daddy doing these things and they do them now too.
Never think a City is to Fast paced for such things! it’s all around you, just sometimes we don’t see it tell it happens to us.
There are good people everywhere. Though I wish they were more plentiful. I know I tend to focus on the wrong things people do; I need to look more at those people who do the right things–there are so many more of them.
