Love & Respect

BookThe Love & Respect book by Dr. Eggerichs is very helpful to understand the different needs of men & women in a marital relationship. Yes, it is written by a Christian man, but it could be also very helpful to non-believers. Give it a try. It will turn your good marriage into a great marriage, because you will understand more things about your partner than a life-time being married. Gentlemen, you always say that you don’t understand your wife, her mood swings ect.
Ladies, this book will give you a glimpse of things you never thought about; the things that just drive our men up the wall. I told my sweetheart about the book. I told him that if I behaved in a way some women do, hey, I would divorce myself. In the age of a high divorce rates, I believe from the bottom of my heart, that we should put every effort into understanding our spouses a little better, and make our marriages stronger.
Oh, one thing gentlemen, tell you wife once in awhile that we are beautiful to you – we love to hear it, especially coming from the mouth of our sweethearts. It will be worth it – believe me…

The Power of the Cross

The Power of the Cross – what does it mean to you? I believe that this is the most powerful message from the Bible. I listened to the song “In Christ Alone – My Hope is Found” this morning as I was working on a Bible study. I meditated on the words “‘Til on the cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied. For ev’ry sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live”.
Christ took on my sin in order for me to be reconciled to God and I am able to approach the throne of Grace through prayer. How awesome is that! Yes, the crucifixion was gory, but without it, how would we even understand the wages of sin – death? I have seen several movies about the life and the crucifixion of Christ, but for me the most powerful is still “The Passion of the Christ” by Mel Gibson. Yes, it might be offensive to some, but you know what – that was Mel Gibson’s point; to clearly show us what Christ went through.
So, what does the Cross mean to you?

New & Exciting

Yes – it is finally finished – my first on-line forum to host Bible studies. If you are interested, we start our first discussion on “The Passion of Christ” (based on Mel Gibson’s movie) on September 18th. Just click on the banner in the side bar titled “Living In Christ Forum” and it will take you to the forum hosted by Invisionfree.com You do have to register on the site, but it would be fun to have you there and discuss why Christ died for all of us. So long…

Up for Irish Music?

Clannad

As I am writing this post, I am listing to Clannad‘s album ‘Landmarks‘ (from 1997). Can’t understand most of the words, because most of the vocals are in Celtic, but the music is great. If you have a minute check them out; they are sure worth listing to. Haven’t heard this kind of great, non-christian music in a LONG time.
