“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” ~ Colossians 3:15 (ESV)
Do you believe in Divine intervention? Well, I do. You see, I have been trying to go back to my home country (for a visit) for the past 3 years. For one reason or another, it just has not worked out…until now.
Last week, I received a bonus at work, which was really great. My husband said: “Well honey, now you can finally buy the new laptop you always wanted”. My answer: “Or, I could go home to see my mom and the rest of my family”. He agreed. I have not seen my mom or family for 8 years, so it really is time.
So, on Friday I started to check airline prices. I so wanted to go with the German airline, Lufthansa. Unfortunately, Lufthansa does not fly directly from Phoenix to Germany. I was looking high and low to find a good connection, for a certain time frame and price. However, nothing really came up with my search. Sure, there were plenty of flights available, but I would had to fly first to the East Coast before even making it on the flight across the Atlantic.
The funny thing is that usually plenty of flights are available from Denver, but for some reason not for the time frame I wanted to go. Monday afternoon I made another attempt to find the fitting flight. Honestly, I was ready to just book any flight; but coming back in the middle of the night, with several hours in an airport I would not feel comfortable being by myself?!? Hm…So, I thought, well, what can it hurt to check Kayak.com in another tab just to see…
Have you ever used the travel-site to find flights, hotels etc? As I was waiting for the site to update for flights with my dates, the first flight that came up was with British Airways. I could not believe the price; it was under $1,000 round-trip. The best thing about it? I fly from Phoenix to London, 4 hours layover, than from London to Hannover (my final destination) 😛 …
All I can say, I am very, very excited to hug my mom after 8 years…and my mom is equally excited 🙂
As for the Divine intervention you may wonder? Hm, two things: 1) I could not find a flight that would make me fell all fuzzy/secure – 2) I checked the price for the same route, same carrier today and it is $300 more (2 days later…).
Lord of Heaven and Earth. Thank You from the bottom of my heart!!! I am so giddy, I could burst. I am thankful for Your guidance. I know that I am not the most patient person, but You have taught me the past years to be patient. Everything will work out in Your time.
What are you thankful for this week? Please let us know by leaving a link to your Thankful Thursday post below. Please remember that Laurie at Women Taking a Stand will be our hostess for the month of July.
Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: sometimes God’s timing is not our timing; I have learned to be patient.

Yes I do believe, sometimes we just have to wait for His timing. Sometimes everything goes wrong just right.
