Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
(1 John 4:7-9 ESV)

There are days where I get completely flustered and it is hard to show love to others (especially when they are not very nice). However, God is calling us to love and show love no matter what we receive in return. You see, John talked about His incredible love, with the most famous one being John 3:16. In 1 John 4:7-21 he tells us that love is from God and that we should act on this love with love in return.

I know that I have not been always lovable, but I also know that God has always loved me. That sometimes is overwhelming. So, when I have a hard time loving others as I should, I think about His incredible love. And that my friends is what I am thankful for this week.

  1. Oh Iris. How hard it can indeed be to love our “enemies” yet God’s grace helps us and you are so right in saying that He never fails to love us even when we sin or walk away from Him. Thanks for the link up.

  2. I know what you mean as I’ve been there! When I’m not feeling very lovable, it is hard to show love to others…especially the “others” who are not at their sweetest! But, what I’ve found, is that when I put my own feelings aside and love anyway, a wonderful thing happens! I feel better…even a bit lovable! 🙂 Love works miracles!
