I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
(Psalm 9:1 ESV)
I cannot believe that we are in the month of September. Goodness, where did this year go…There was so much I had planned for 2012, but some things just have not yet been accomplished.
I have chosen the title ‘inspiration’ because there are so many things that inspire me. The number one inspiration is God’s Word. Lately I have been meditating a lot on the book of Joshua. As I had shared at LWG this week, Joshua has always been my Old Testament hero.
Don’t get me wrong, David has written some very inspiring Psalms, but Joshua shows me how to obey God. Joshua always followed hard after God; no questions asked. Joshua’s faith inspires me to trust and obey God, no matter where the road leads.
This year has had its challenges, but then again so does every year. We plan for things, but than our plans fall through. Believe me, during my husband’s sickness I have cried, stomped my feet, screamed out loud (in the car)…and laughed at myself. However, the greatest thing I have taken away from the ordeal was to trust God and now by His grace I try to obey Him…no questions asked.
What are you thankful for this week? What inspires you? Share with us by leaving a link to your Thankful Thursday post below.
Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: get inspired by God’s Word to see you through tough times.
Love & peace,
Iris

God’s Word is inspiring indeed! And soothing, and encouraging, and convicting and . . . you get the idea.
Beautiful post! This goes along so great with my reading in James this morning!
Joshua is one of my favorites as well. “Be strong and courageous…” Love reading that reminder. 🙂
I have been inspired this week by reminders of God’s presence and love- how it endures, is steadfast- and constant. So comforting when you feel completely overwhelmed by the daily struggles that you face. Thank you for the opportunity to link up. 🙂
It is so true, isn’t it, how diversity cements us to God more than anything else? It is hard when health issues leave us weakened in body, but praise God, he ensures that the weakened body doesn’t lead to weakened faith!
God’s word is my salvation, too. 🙂
I, too, have been so inspired by God’s Word lately. I’m reading through the Bible, and am currently in Psalms and 1 Corinthians. As I walk the valley I’m walking, God has yet to fail in giving me a jewel each day to be inspired by.
My post is a little out of the ordinary, but it’s what’s on my heart. God bless you!
In-spire = breathe in the Holy Spirit! Praise God that He indwells all believers to inspire all we do and say to His glory. Thanks for the great post & for hosting the linkup, & God bless!
Lovely post. My post is about trusting God. If we trust Him, He will never fail us. I’m thankful for His goodness, that in His goodness He uses circumstances to teach us to trust Him. Blessings !
2011 was a particularly hard year for me – health and finances. 2012, I\’m still standing on His promises. I pray Gal 3:13, 14 for your husband! I have seen how powerful His word is when we declare it over our lives… God bless you in this season!
New here and will be back 🙂
