And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Yesterday “Veterans Day” was celebrated here in the US. I know that some may across the globe do not celebrate this particular day…But I wanted to still be write a quick thankful post about the military/veterans.
No matter how you feel about wars in general, but let us still be thankful for the men and women who put their lives on hold to serve their country. You see, my Beloved is a veteran. I met him while he served in Germany 27 years ago 🙂 …
Yes, Germany was ‘occupied’ by the US, but I am thankful for that. You know why? Because I was blessed enough to grow up in the part that was ‘free‘ despite its occupation. If you have ever studied a little history, international history, Western Germany was rebuild by the US under the Marshall Plan (click the link to find out more). So, yes, I am thankful for military and their services.
What are you thankful for today? Please share with us in leaving your link below to your Thankful Thursday post.
Thank you for stopping by today…Remember: Let Christ’s peace rule your heart…and be thankful.

Iris, thank you for the link about the Marshall Plan. I’m so glad that you grew up on the free side of Germany. I would love to talk more to you about your experiences growing up. I think we need to get together again soon, you AZ gal.
Love you,
Debbie
Amen. Beautiful post.
Happy thankful thursday!
ps Please give a big thank you to your hubby from the Bouffard family 🙂
Iris, I echo your thanks to our troops and also wrote my TT post on saluting our veterans. This touches my heartstrings as I have a son in the services and served a year overseas. The sacrifices that these men and women and their families make is great and we need to not forget the cost that comes with our freedom. Happy TT!
Amen! God bless all our troops!
God bless America and those who defend it. Thanks Iris for hosting.
God bless and protect those who fight and sacrifice their lives for their country.
Like you, am thankful for the brave soldiers who gave their lives protecting the country and the people. May the Lord bless them!!
May we never forget 😉
Hugs and blessings,
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! ~Maya Angelou
What a beautiful reminder!
A very befitting post, Iris. Thank you!
I too am thankful for the men and women who are now or have in the past served their country. It is because of those men and women that we enjoy much of the freedoms that we take for granted. I pray that the Lord bless them and keep them, that He makes His face to shine upon them, and gives them peace. I pray that the families that are left behind know that we are greatful for their sacrifices and that they be comforted while they are apart. And I pray Christ’s peace upon all who have lost someone in the military ~Amen
I’m right there with you, Iris! So thankful for our men and women that serve our country in the military.
Happy Thankful Thursday!
Hello Iris,
There has been so much bloodshed among European people in the two “World” Wars. No wonder we are in this difficult situation today, since the bloom of our nations has fallen victim of the greed and pride of the few. Let us pray that God rests their soul in peace and that His wisdom will guide us to the path of Faith and Honour.
thank you for hosting. Blessings to you and yours.
So thankful today for the grace of God, and for the family of God! Thankful, too, for those brave souls who have defended our country. Thankful that we can honor them.
Wendy
