For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
~ Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV)

Wow, Lynn came up with a theme for Thankful Thursday that stumped me a little bit. The problem is that I have shared so much over the past 5 years, that I am not sure if I can come up with 10-new-things-you-don’t-know-about-me. But I will give it a try:

  • I don’t see well at night, so I wear glasses when I have to drive
  • My dad got really upset with me when I had my ears pierced (I was 18)
  • I do not like arguments, so I avoid them as much as I can
  • Although I love to sing, I never played an instrument
  • I didn’t know the term ‘saving grace’ until I was 35
  • I am generally a very quiet person
  • I rather give than receive
  • I get really silly when over-tired
  • I snort when laughing really hard (I start crying ‘cuz I can’t stop laughing)
  • I really, really, really like ‘Retro Pepsi’ (it is made with real sugar)

Not sure if I shared something new with you, but I didn’t want to miss out on Thankful Thursday. I am glad that God made me unique. Although I could use a little more self-esteem, I am proud who I am and Who I belong to.

Thank you for stopping by today. Don’t forget to stop by Lynn’s blog to hock-up with other Thankful Thursday bloggers. Remember: you are fearfully and wonderfully made by Him who holds the world in His hands.

  1. Oh Iris,

    I know you so well but I didn’t know some of these things. and I cackled reading this: I snort when laughing really hard (I start crying ‘cuz I can’t stop laughing)

    Girl, you and I are going to laugh and laugh through eternity. How fun is that. Love you so much. Hugs, Lynn

  2. You little snorter; you. I can’t say that I’ve heard you snort …yet. I enjoyed reading your ten things list. It’s always fun to get to know you better Iris.

    Love you,
    Debbie

  3. Iris, You’ve made my day TWICE in the last month. I received the beautiful postcards yesterday and will enjoy using them. They are a treasure that it will be a delight to share. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents in such a beautiful way.

  4. I enjoyed your “10 things” list! I tend to let a little snort sneak out when I’m laughing sometimes, too!

    I hope you enjoy a blessed weekend…full of laughter!

    Blessings to you, Joan

  5. Oh Iris,

    I love learning these things about you. I already guessed you were a more quiet person and one who would avoid argument so that doesn’t surprise me. Your warmth comes across the Internet!

    I’m a snorter and I cry too when something is really funny and I’m in an all out belly laugh! 🙂

    When I’m really tired (over tired) I become very quiet. That has shocked my hubby for 20 years of marriage because if you knew me you’d know that quiet is not the norm for me (BIG SMILE) but when I’m very tired I have absolutely nothing to say — I’m stone quiet. You may get a smile but no more words.

    I love you Iris. I love your warmth. You have a profound, simplistic, gentle and abundant beauty about you in Christ — it’s engaging and I appreciate your love for Him that shows!
