“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.” ~ Romans 1:8 (ESV)
God is good – all the time. As you all know (or most of you), I work full-time at a very large corporate office. It is very hard to keep positive throughout the week.
Today I want to share about a friendship I have formed with one of my co-workers. I have prayed for a while for someone to talk to about Jesus at work. In today’s society you really have to be careful; you might get called into the HR office if you mention the name of Jesus to someone who does not believe.
Lori is an amazing woman of faith. I love talking to her. The great thing is that I can share with her what I am struggling with when reading the Bible. I am currently reading through Ezra (I am not so good with the Old Testament *sigh*). Lori just smiled when I mentioned that I have a hard time with the Old Testament; she makes me feel comfortable sharing and makes me feel I am not alone 🙂 …
Today, I am very thankful that God placed Lori in my life. Goodness, I spend 70% of my time at work, so the support of another Christian is marvelous. Lori (in case you read this), you are awesome!!!! It is so nice to talk to you about our shared faith in Christ.
What are you thankful for today? Please do share with us by leaving your link below. I apologize for not stopping by last week, but we received our new cable modem today and it works like a charm :).
Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: God answers our prayers in His time – don’t give up.

That is really awesome,Iris!!! Isn’t it sad you have to be careful to whom you speak about Jesus too? My Mother has found some ladies at her place to talk with like you do your friend. Thanks for hosting!!
Iris,
I am so thankful for our friendship. Have a blessed season. and Happy TT. and Merry Christmas. Hugs.
Its not unusual to find Christian co-workers, but to have a special bond like you two do is truly a blessing. I am fortunate to have three employees who all know and love the Lord. One, in particular, has become a person I can talk openly with about my faith. We encourage and affirm each other.
We share discernment about situations both in the workplace and in the world. God is so good!
What a blessing, Iris, that you are able to fellowship at work!!
Iris I am so happy for you!! And what is it with you and the name Lori, hehehe,. I guess all Lori’s adore Iris’.
I am thankful for you Iris. A friend like Lori is a priceless treasure.
What a wonderful blessing!
What a wonderful thing to find a special person like that at work. I am still looking for that special kind of friend in the world. You are blessed! Have a wonderful week my friend!
here for my TT entry. nice post for a friend. cheers!
sorry for i make my entry double. just delete the first one. thanks
I know exactly what you mean. I used to work in Corporate America. It can be a challenge to find someone who shares your faith but when you do it is like water in the desert. I praise God that you found Lori. The Word says: Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up(Ecc. 4:9-10)!
Praise God for new friendships. God knows exactly what we need, when we need it! I am thankful that God brought you, my friend, into my life! Happy TT!
What a wonderful and direct answer to prayer!! A fellow-believer co-worker is of immeasurable value ~ I hope you will continue to grow closer together!!
Yes, it is a blessing to have Christian co-workers. There can be so much stress on the job and it’s wonderful having people there who will pray with you and just be a friend.
The Lord has given you such a wonderful blessing. I pray your new friendship continues to grow in Christ. God bless you.
Sisters in Christ is such a blessing!
Iris, I am so happy the Lord answered your prayer so graciously! It’s been awhile since I’ve been surrounded by unbelievers, but I well remember the feelings of isolation that can sometimes come. I praise God that you have Lori!
Thank you for hosting this – I can’t tell you how often Thankful Thursday has literally pushed a reset button on my heart mid-week. God is using this little meme in my life.
God bless!
When I worked at a pharmacy I shared the Lord with whoever would come in. A customer would come in and I would stop and listen and the ‘whisper’ to say something would come near and I would say ‘I am praying for you’ or ‘I understand’ or sometimes I would have to leave the area and shed a tear. (chemo kids are the worst my heart just breaks)
I miss a good friend. My contacts are minimal these day and My best friend just got married and her world is busy with that new life. Sometimes I feel alone but I know I am not. Just would love some ‘girl time’.
Hi Iris!
A friend is a true gift from God! I’m so glad that you have been blessed with a sister in Christ in your work place. That will make all the difference!
Blessings to you, Joan
Good friends truly are a blessing from God!
I have a Christian co-worker too, whom I am also very thankful for!
Iris,

Wendy Gunn
Blessings to you tonight, Iris!
Yay for new friends! I’m happy that God answered your prayer for someone to talk to about Him at work.
That is truly a wonderful blessing! Merry Christmas to you!
Thanks, Iris, for the reminder that God has blessed me with at least one Christian woman at each of the 4 schools I work at! So glad the Lord brought you one, too. Isn’t He great? blessings on your day!
