“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
~ Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV)

I am thankful for the passage from Isaiah. Isaiah is proclaiming God’s grace and mercy to the ones who repent and turn from their ways; these particular verses give me great comfort.

I have tried so many times to do things my way, just to fall flat on my back. As I had mentioned last week, I have given it all over to the Lord. And no, I am not taking it back either. Many of you know that I love photography; I want to truly make a living off of it. But it is hard to find clients when you work full-time.

Over the last 5 months I had at least one client; which is really good for me. I am excited to have another booking this up-coming Saturday – Yahoo. Thank You Lord for Your provision in that field. Who knows where the next session leads 😛 – God is Good – All the time.

What are you thankful for this week? Please share in the comment section or by leaving your link to your Thankful Thursday post below; I will make sure to stop by 🙂 .

Thank you again for stopping in; remember: God’s ways are much higher than ours, trust Him with your thoughts and dreams.

  1. Love this reminder and your last line about trusting God with our thoughts and dreams, sometimes that is way harder than trusting Him with our finances or health, but doing it brings amazing peace even in less than ideal circumstances, meaning not all our dreams are becoming reality.

  2. Praise God that His timing is better than ours. For me the waiting is hard to do, but when we trust in Him, everything else just falls into place. Within His time. I just know that God is going to reward you for your obedience and pour a blessing out upon you that you cannot contain. Keep believing and pursuing in your dream. He wants to give you the desires of your heart Iris. Thanks for hosting TT this month! ((hugs))

  3. “Waiting” ahh I’m still struggling with that, instead of waiting upon the Lord to move I sometimes do it on my own and oftentimes I do fail.

Praying that God will favor you with more clients.

  4. hi iris.

thank you for hosting TT. i haven’t done this for a while and I’m glad to be able to join today.

i love the topic you chose. this really ministered to me. it made me reflect how God is working in my life even though i don’t understand His ways.

    God bless!

  5. Iris – I can’t count the times I’ve tried to do things my way and not waited on the Lord. Each time, I fall flat. I love the scripture verse you shared – indeed His ways are always better. I would love to be able to write more often, but it’s hard when I work full time so I understand completely about your photography.

I wish you the best with your photo shoot this weekend.

    Blessings,
    Joan

  6. How wonderful that you are able to follow your passion and finding these opportunities! Thanks for the wonderful Scripture reminder. 🙂

  7. Thank you for posting this passage — it was good for the reminder! God bless and congratulations on the new client! 🙂

  8. Great reminder Iris. I wish you the best of luck in your photography. I too am in almost the same boat rowing along beside you with my art. During the difficult $ times, it is hard trying to sell photographs as well as artwork. Hoping and praying you will have more future clients and I will sell more art. Blessings.

  9. Love this passage from Isaiah…those times of waiting are so difficult for me as well…but in His time. I know that it truly what I want…
Your words were an encouragement this afternoon…

  10. Hi. I have not been posting in awhile. It’s good to be back.
I love Isaiah, too. Isn’t it wonderful how certain scripture speaks to you? The Spirit often leads me to just what I need in the Word. Happy TT!

  11. I’m so glad that God is blessing you with the opportunity to use your photography skill even while you are working fulltime! Congratulations on your new clients!!

    Blessings, Joan
