What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:7

  • I am thankful for God’s peace this week. Although I been really tired and busy, He was there beside me.
  • I am thankful that I have a peaceful home to come home to. You know what makes me sad? When women talk bad about their husbands. I hear it every single day at work…very sad indeed.
  • I am thankful for women like DK Raymer, who reminded me last week that there is not peace everywhere. That many soldiers are still in the battlefield. That spouses loose their husbands and wives because of war. Would you please visit her blog and read her entry about ‘Red Fridays‘? Would you wear a red ribbon on Friday to remember the men and women in the battlefield? I know I will…
  • I am thankful for women like Polly, who make me smile and remind me that I have a ‘Build-In GPS‘…

What are you thankful for this week? Any blessings you received this week you want to share?

I hope that you will have a blessed Thursday…

  1. Peace is a wonderful thing…. only God can grant us this gift when we ask for it. A lot of people take peace for granted, but don’t realize how valuable it is when they experience intense unrest in their hearts… great thankful list, iris! 🙂

  2. Great post. I took your advice and visited both DK Raymer and Polly ~ decided I need to get some red ribbon and was thrilled to meet another Virginia gal.

    Blessings to you.

  3. I am thankful for my health, so far no allergy attacks like I usually get in October!

I am thankful for all the bloggers who work hard at having upbeat postings that inspire and not drag down the reader. That would be you dear Iris!

I hope you get to feeling more rested soon! The weekend is coming and that is always a great time to rejuvenate and find that spot of rest!

  4. I am thankful for a husband who it’s hard to say bad things about… though, I thank you for reminding me I should keep my heart in check when I’m tempted to do so!

  5. I am thankful for your reminder that peace….God’s peace is available through thick or thin! The past 10 days struggling through my mother-in-laws coronary arrest have been a little chaotic. Yet, when we have intentionally calmed our spirits–we have felt His peace and assurance. What a gift!

  6. Loved Polly’s post. I am ever grateful for that blessed inner guidance. Trusting the information is the big part for me. I know when God speaks, but will I act? I try to be obedient so when He says “Leap!” I say “How high?” Blessings!

  7. It is always good to stop and think of reasons to be thankful. I got the code and put up my list.

BTW, if I haven’t mentioned this before I need to now: I love the format of your blog! The graphics are adorable. :-)Chrissy

  8. Wow, I still thought it was Wednesday…LOl…..

But I’m thankful to know Jesus, that my husband’s melanoma has not spread, that my third-born is getting married in a few months, that I have two precious granddaughters, that my life and times are in His hands, and that He enables me with strength and energy to write for Him.

  9. I am thankful for you, who just happens to think of me and prays for me when I really needed it. That just blows my mind!

I agree about women who bad mouth their husbands. It’s so unattractive & disrespectful to their spouse. Even though Tarzan & I aren’t married, I wouldn’t bad mouth him to someone. Well…okay, my mom, but that’s what moms are for. Know what I mean?

  10. It’s awesome to take the time to say what we are thankful for because it takes our focus away from the things we’re complaining about and it brings honor to God. Sometimes I can’t even express my gratefulness because there are so many others who have so much less or have so much chaos in their life. Christ left us His peace and stopping to say what we’re thankful for helps us find that peace again. Thanks Iris. I’m thankful for Christians like you who plow through and post such inspiring articles to encourage us all.
Thanks for sending some readers over to my blog and thanks to all for the nice comments. There’s so much negativity on the television and in the paper, it’s great to be able to read something that lifts you up instead of dragging us down.

  11. Ditto!! I’ll just use your “thankful list” if you don’t mind…I’ve also been feeling overwhelmed with a sense of His peace.

  12. I’m always thankful when I come here and read the things you are thankful for. It reminds me that I have much for which to praise God and for which to acknowledge His sovereignty in my life.

As always, I’m thankful for you, Iris!
