“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” ~ Romans 5:3-5 (ESV)

Wow – another week (almost) behind us. I don’t know where the weeks go. Are they a blur to you too? Although I always look forward to the weekends, I do like to get things done during the week…but always seem to run out of time 😆 . Well, before I continue babbling, I want to share with you my thankful list…

  • I am thankful that God gives me hope every day. Although some days are rough, I know that I can count on One – Jesus to see me through…
  • I am thankful for my health, the health of my family. I often (too often) take my health for granted. Last night I read Kelli’s post and her question for help. Would you do me a favor? Would you visit her and see if you or someone you know might be able to help her? I hope that someone will step forward…
  • I am thankful for the relationship my Sweetheart and I have with our son. Although he has moved on with his life, our son calls us on a regular basis. I hope that our relationship will stay this way – that he will continue to share his life with us…
  • I am thankful for God’s Word. It has been amazing to me that I am able to keep up what I have started 4 months ago – my appointment with God every.single.morning…Thank you Lord for giving me the strength to get out of bed at such an early hour. Your Word gives me hope for the day…
  • I am thankful for friends – near and far. It is wonderful to share the hope we have in Him…
  • I am thankful for the Internet. Not only so I may share my thoughts with you, but also to connect with my sister in Germany visually. Yeah – we talked over the Internet via Webcam last weekend – how cool is that???? I hope that we can do this more often…

What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us. Please link up with your Thankful Thursday post below. As your time permits, please visit other participants to read their thoughts for this Thursday.

Thank you so much for your participation last week – and the warm welcome back – you ladies bless my socks off!!!!

Blessings on your day and always…

    Thanks for being so wonderful!

  4. Thank you for this meme. I’m a new blogger, so this is my first Thankful Thursday. And I’m like you (though I didn’t mention it in my post), I’m thankful for the Internet too. It’s really opened my eyes to so much I should/could be doing for the Lord. Thanks again.

  5. Wonderful List! Isn’t that webcam amazing! My sister moved to MS and we got one for my mom! I have to admit I hate to see myself on there though! Have a great day!

  7. Happy TT Iris!

As always I so enjoy coming by your awesome site. Thanks for starting my day off feeling so grateful.

“I am thankful that God gives me hope every day.” Oh, what would we do without HOPE?

Your list was great. I’m so excited you get to chat with your sister via Internet, that is really NEAT!

Blessings to you. Thank YOU for being such a great host.

  8. As always, this presents a challenge, but I’m really glad that there is something that holds me accountable to be grateful and to go to my Father with gratitude in the place of grumbling and complaining….

  9. What a lovely list! #3 is precious. I do not have a close relationship with my son. We speak occasionally but rarely. I am at peace with this. As long as he is doing well, I don’t need to be involved in every aspect of his life. Understand he lives over 1000 miles away, is married with 3 children and is almost 40 yrs. Would I like it to be different? Yes.
    Thanks for hosting our thankfuls!

  10. Hello Iris, I enjoyed your list. I love the hearts in your background. That is wonderful to read about your discipline to get up early each morning. God bless you.

  11. Iris….thank you a k-zillion times over! You have hit the target today. HOPE! Glorious hope….and I have been sneezing my head off! My eyes are swollen…my nose is stopped up…my back hurst from sneezing…my brain is not functioning well—and I am complaining to you….sorry.
    Love you lots and lots.

  12. Blessings on your day Iris…new to the internet but having found this site and many other Christian women who love Him and have the gift of writing, the internet is one of the things I am thankful for today. I am thankful for His mercies which are new every day, for the love of family and for His amazing love….We have managed to keep great relationships with our adult children and they allow us in to their lives and share life with us…great to have them as friends…God has really been good to us in that respect….Thankful for the sunshine today….Thanks Iris for all you do…

  13. Iris, that is so awesome that you have kept up your daily appointment with God! Way to go! And how exciting to be able to talk to your sister via internet. God has blessed us with some great technology, hasn’t he?

  14. Thank you, Iris for your list of thankfulness. Health is something the well can sometimes take for granted until they are faced with the challenges that Kelli faces. Thank you for bringing her to my attention.

  15. Iris,
Very uplifting as always. I need to be reminded of God’s gifts sometimes in the midst of trials, and you do that well. His are gifts from the heart, and they are non refundable. He is so good to us all! Thanks for your awesome list!

  16. I am always blessed when I read your Thankful Thursday list Iris.
I’ve given you a little award – just because you absolutely deserve this one!

  17. Hi Iris, sorry I missed last week, and welcoming you back. The beginning of your post sounds a bit parallel to mine…the days blurred for me, and I never get done everything I want to. But thanks and praise to Him, I’m getting through it all.
And thank you for encouraging me through your words about getting up early. I’ve been telling myself how much I need to get re-motivated towards doing this, and yours is the second post I’ve read that mentioned how good it is to start your day early with God. I’m praying the Lord will give strength to my desire to do this. God bless.

  18. I missed tt this week but still posted late 🙂 Sorry I missed last week too. Thanks so much for the encouragement and reminding me of the HOPE i have in Him. Be blessed.
