“Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
~ Psalm 100:4 (ESV)
I know it is a little different than my normal Thankful post, but I was so thankful today that I was able to listen to the soccer game between Germany vs Ghana. Although I have been living here is the US for the past 19 years, Germany has still my heart.
I was so glad that Germany won the game, because I didn’t want my home-country play the US team in the next round. Why not? Well, because my boss likes the US team of course 😆 …
Isn’t it neat how we can use the internet for a variety of things? Listening to something that happens at the other end of the world – how cool!!!!
I am also thankful that I will be able to watch Germany play their next game against England, since the game will be on Sunday afternoon and I do not have to work.
What are you thankful for this week? Please share by leaving your link below. Next week will be already July and we will meet up at Lynn’s place “Spiritually Unequal Marriage“.
Thank you for stopping by today.

Hi Iris,
I am so thankful for Internet too. I have learned so many things through all the wonderful resources available on the internet. And I have been so greatly blessed to get to know you and many friends through blogging on the internet. Thank God for technology that enables people all over the world to connect with one another! Thank you for hosting TT. Take care and have a blessed day!
Warm regards,
Nancie
I love your thankful heart sweet friend.
Its good to have something to cheer for! Enjoy the rest of the World Cup.
That’s neat, Iris!
I am continually amazed at all we can do on the internet.
I don’t listen to internet radio, but I am thankful for so many other ways the internet has enhanced my life!
Iris,
I am very thankful, too, for internet radio, as we aren’t able to listen too well any other way! It has been a real blessing since we got wireless DSL.
I’ve been blessed by a whole bunch of German readers on my blog lately, and I just love it! I suddenly thought of that reading your post! I’m so happy for you to be able to cheer your country on!
Blessings,
Wendy

Ah yes…We have also been keeping up with the games! Thanks for hosting this month Iris!
I can so identify! Not with the soccer part, necessarily, but radio programs like Revive Our Hearts, which aren’t broadcast in my area, have become part of my daily routine, thanks to the Internet!
It is amazing how “small” the world is now because of the internet and TV! What a blessing to be able to cheer for home teams even when thousands of miles away! Congrats Germany!

I agree that the internet has changed the world. It has a lot of good, as well as bad that comes with it. I think the internet is amazing and am thankful for all the good it has done too. You can keep in touch with so many that are so far away! Women have been blessed more than any others to have the internet. I know my world has been opend and is so much better now that I use it. Have a great day Iris!
Don’t know what we would do without the internet here! We use it for everything! 🙂

Thank God indeed!
http://chrisamador.blogspot.com/2010/06/thankful-thursday-28_24.html is my post!
Iris, I know how you miss your family in Germany. How wonderful that you can watch Sunday’s game at home.
I always tend to forget to listen to Internet radio. I’ve enjoyed listening to Blog Talk Radio at times though. I loved hearing Kristen Schiffman speak on a recent show.
Hugs to you,
Debbie
i’m definitely thankful for all the wonderful women i’ve met online. not to mention the phenomenal man (my darling hub-sand) that i met via the internet.
I have never listened to internet radio, but I love my cds of Christian music! I have taken part this week, and am hoping to do it more often!
The internet can be a great tool. Hope you’re having a wonderful day!
This is my first Thankful Thursday…thank you for being here!

I’m not into sports at all, but I get your enthusiasm and can relate with your thankfulness for it! Happy for you!
Here’s my list.
The internet has truly been a gift when we use it properly. The amount of information we can obtain, I couldn’t have imagined it when I was a child. Ah, to write another school paper 😉

That’s wonderful! I’m thankful for the internet too! Bless you..
Dear Iris,
I have been reading your webpage for a few months now and it has helped me get through a very difficult time in our family’s life. I have never said Thank you to you for your continued encouragement. Love in Jesus
Josie
I’m thankful for the internet, too! It’s such a blessing how it connects us to the places of our heart. Last year I was able to watch our church’s annual general assembly in TN, even though I was stuck in Alaska. SUCH a blessing!
It’s thankful Thursday on my blog too!
