“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” ~ Psalm 51:12 (ESVemphasis mine)

As I was sitting down to write my Thankful post this week, the words “Lamb of God” kept coming back. As I was sitting in church today for the Ash Wednesday service, tears were flowing down my face. Not because I was sad, but because my heart was overflowing with joy. A joy that comes from knowing that the Lord loves me – no matter what. So, I though it would be an appropriate theme for me this week…

  • Thank You Lord for going to Calvary for me so that I may spend eternity with You. Lord, continue to uphold my willing spirit to serve You where ever I can…
  • I am thankful that the Lord reminds me that I am at where He wants me. Although I am not always happy about decisions that are made at work, I can have an attitude of joy (more about that in my devotion tomorrow at LWG)…
  • I am thankful for my marriage. Although we have had our ups and downs, I am joyful to be married to my Sweetheart. He makes me laugh when my day was not that great…
  • I am thankful that our son is doing so well. I already have gotten used to him no living here. But then again, we also have regular contact with him. He is going to Japan with his friends this summer – I think that he might check things out to see if he would like to live there for a little while…
  • I am thankful that I learn more and more about Photoshop. It is such a joy to create digital LO’s with Photoshop. I am even scanning photos from our son’s baby-age 😛 …
  • I am thankful for Mugs of Truth. It gives me great joy that a company has made its goal to share God’s truth on merchandise 🙂 . Mugs of Truth is having a sale right now on their bracelets. I will be drawing one name of all the Thankful Thursday participants to receive a Philippians 4:13 bracelet. So make sure you link up your Thankful post below 😉 …

What are you thankful for today? I hope you will leave your link below to share with us. If you don’t have a blog, still share with us your grateful heart 🙂 …

Thank you for stopping by today. May our Lord give you renewed joy daily as we reflect on His sacrifice at Calvary.

Blessings to you and yours…

  1. Great post Iris. Hope you do well with your son leaving. I am about to face the same thing. It is so hard trying to let go. I used your words ” not because I am sad, but because my heart is overflowing with joy” on my blog today. Hope you do not mind. Thanks for “Thankful Thursday” I have really enjoyed participating! God Bless!

  2. Hi Iris,

This is just a beautiful post. It is neat to think about the joy we have and it flows out of a thankful heart. I am thankful for you and for the time you invest in this online community.

Can’t wait to read your post at LWG tomorrow. Thanks again for the encourager award. Thank you.

  3. How great God’s love for us is. It’s hard to comprehend but good to dwell on. I love the joy theme! May His joy continually fill our hearts with praise for Him…

  4. What an enormous blessing to be here tonight…with you Iris! Thank you for hosting…for reminding us—-every week of all that we have to be thankful for.

  7. Hi Iris, thank you for sharing your thankful heart this morning. Your testimony on LWG today is a real blessing – learning to be thankful where God wants us. Sometimes that is so difficult because we think we know what we want — Thank God he doesn’t listen to us all the time! Be blesse today!

  8. Good Morning Iris,

Thanks so much for help starting my day with a “Thankful Heart”. I love the theme for today “JOY”.

    Your list was great…as always.

I’m going to read your post on LWG next!

    Blessings to you my friend.

  9. Hey Iris. I’m also thankful for the great JOY that comes only from Jesus! Thanks so much for hosting TT. What a special day. I’m glad you’re adjusting to your son not living with you….but possibly living in Japan??…to that I say, praise God for the internet and better communication in this world that has become so small. Blessings of great joy on your day.

  10. I’m so happy that you are still hosting Thankful Thursday. I have gotten out of the practice of participating and have noticed the difference in my life of no longer cultivating an attitude of gratitude. So I decided to stop by and see if I could get back into the swing of participating.

    Blessings to you this week!

    Jenny

  11. What a beautiful post….I am thankful for answered prayer. I am thankful for the scripture and the Lord showing me new things every time I read it. What a great God we have that loves us so much to keep showing us new things in His Word. Blessings on you and yours Iris…

  12. I can’t help but sit here smiling, wanting to burst out with a joyful noise unto the Lord after reading this. Your joy and love of the Lord shines through in everything you write. Thank you for sharing it with all of us. Be blessed.

  13. I am so grateful for your comments on my blog and for reminding me that David went through so many emotions as well. That’s an area where I’ve really been struggling the last few months. So many other Christians have made me feel that it’s NOT okay to feel sad, discouraged, etc. and your comments were just reinforcement to me that it IS okay and I knew that all along.
