You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever! ~ Psalm 30:11-12 (ESV – emphasis mine)
I have no special focus today. I am thankful that I live in the grace of God. That is enough for me to praise His mighty name!!!!
- I am thankful that the Lord teaches me from His Word new ways of living a more abundant life in Him…
- I am thankful for my beloved. His sense of humor makes me laugh out loud…
- I am thankful that our swamp cooler is still working at these high temperatures we are having right now (113F for the rest of the week). I am not ready for A/C yet…
- I am thankful that we have a roof over our head so we have shelter from the heat…
- I am thankful that our son is doing well for himself. He impresses me on how he is handling all the responsibilities of an adult. Except, I wish he would finally get his drivers license. But then again that gives me the opportunity to see him at least once a month…
- I am thankful for the daily food on our table…
- I am still thankful for Beth Moore’s study “Stepping Up”. She has, as always, so much to share and teach out of Scriptures in a new way. I am wondering if I have ever read the Psalms 😉 …
- I am thankful that the Lord is helping me to set my priorities in life. I struggled about this for the past 9 months, but thanks to Him, I am back on track…
- Last, but not least, I am thankful for a day off with my beloved on Friday. I just love spending the day with him…

When you mentioned your son, I just can’t help thinking of Matt’s future. You son sounds like a fine man to me. Truthfully, the thought of him growing up (and moving out) is breaking my heart (even if that’s unlikely to happen in few years time-he’s only 2!)… but I pray my son Matt grows up to be a fine young man too. Happy TT.
I also wrote about my hubby making me laugh!!!
Ok, now I keep hearing about this Stepping Up study. I have a feeling the Lord is speaking to me that I *really* need to get that study!
Enjoyed your thankful list sweetie.
i am thankful everytime my hubby gets home, too … having him around is so comforting. 🙂
I loved the verse you chose for today!!! He DOES turn our mourning into dancing!!
And to live in Grace…. it’s so wonderful and worth praising Him EVERYDAY!!!
I grew up with Swamp cooler, it was fine except in August. I always thought I was going to die in August =) Enjoyed reading your joyful heart. Blessings.
Thank you Iris for sharing that beautiful verse – it fills my heart full of praise…
Have a blessed weekend,

Bless your sweet, thankful heart Iris…I love Psalm 30! As I read through your Thankful thoughts and prayer, I am so blessed for having encountered such a
woman and blog place as this where YOU gratefully acknowledge the GRACE of God in every situation. You take simple blessings and aMazingly make me remember to be thankful for those everyday blessings in our life that could easily be overlooked yet Almighty God sustains and provides from the smallest to our largest need! IRIS again thank you for hosting this and your very precious words that encourage me each time! Be blessed and walk joyfully in your Cooler’s air, thugh I don’t know how you take 113 without air, I’m dying and use it whenever
I can…though it costs me, I am blessed and soooo thankful for the fresh cool I feel til I walk outside in that heat! But I still will dance and sing for Ps. 30 and how Our Lord is there every moment in our journey. Thank you for sharing yours with us!
Thank you for sharing your list…I have so many things to be thankful for as well!

Betcha didn’t think I’d make it!…well, I almost didn’t! I love this whole gang of precious women! AND I am thankful for the blessing you are to me!
Pray for us!
I am thankful to God for what He has been doing in your life. 🙂 Thanks for letting us share what we are thankful to Him also.
I’m a newbie here and I’m glad I found THankful Thursday through my friends..God bless you!
Blessings to you this wonderful Thursday!
I hope to do Stepping Up soon! That is awesome about your son. Have a blessed weekend!!
Iris, as always, thanks for hosting TT. I love reading everyone’s posts, although I wish I had more time to get around and comment. God encourages me SO MUCH through you and everyone else!
Have a blessed day!
Iris, I love the verse that you chose! He does indeed turn our sadness to joy! Like in Isaiah, He turns our mourning to joy- beauty from ashes. I was listening to “Shackles” yesterday. One verse says, “I will praise through this circumstance”. Only Jesus can bring joy and peace when the “reality” is we should be miserable! We have to choose to praise Him and be thankful for His abundance and gifts! That is why I am soooo thankful for TT and for you, Iris!!!!!!!
blessings,
Tracy
Reading about your son reminds me of mine. He is trying to fly. I can feel him moving away from me trying to grow up. I’m glad that he is becoming a man but I still kind of miss the little boy! Thanks for a great TT post!
Sweetest Regards.
Iris, I was in Phoenix the end of May. People say that AZ is not as hot as Nebraska because it’s a dry heat. HA! I ask them if they’ve ever stuck their head in an oven! I’m glad you’re staying cool. Glad you get a day with your hubby. I love having a day with my hubby. Even if we’re busy around the house, just knowing he’s home and I can kiss him anytime through out the day is a huge blessing! 🙂 Thanks for hosting dear girl!
Iris – This meme is just a real blessing to me. Thanks for hosting! Rosheeda
This is my first Thankful Thursday Post. Thank you for inviting me!

I loved your TT list. Thanks for continuing to host this.
I am thankful for my husband’s sense of humor too.
And I bet you are thankful for a roof over your head in 100 plus degrees. Stay cool.
Enjoy this day!
God bless you, Iris. Thanks for being thankful week after week.

Iris,
Thank you for sharing your heart like you do. I can relate to the struggling about and am still in the process of getting back on track! Please keep my in your prayers. My oldest has a few years before he can move out. I pray that I will be able to say the same of mine as you have said of yours. Only I do plan on him getting his license ( already driving “Moms Cab). Have a blessed weekend in Christ Jesus.
Stacy
Thank you so much hosting this every week. I am so blessed and it really helps you to appreciate what you do have by thinking about it each week…everyday.
I think sometimes I take things forgranted and this helps me to keep focused and thankful for everyday things that I do take forgranted.
Hope you have a fabulous week!
I have so much to be thankful for this week. Check out my blog for the details! Thanks for faithfully hosting TT!

God bless your thankful heart, Irene. Thank you so much for prompting us each week to express love for our Savior through thanking Him.
Thankyou Iris for hosting the TT. I have no idea what a Swamp cooler is… but Beth Moore’s teaching seems to open up new ideas from God’s word for me too. Love her online audio files. 🙂
I’m also thankful for my hubby making me laugh. I love those times when we can laugh together.
Priorities…ouch! That’s an area the Lord is working on me in as well. I’m glad you got time with your hubby. That’s always something special to be thankful for.
I hope you enjoy your day off with your hubby.
I love your Thankful Thursdays… and you mentioned your beloved twice today. He must really be special and that is a blessing indeed. I am thankful for your blog because I am blessed each time I stop by!
Looking forward to Thursday girl.. See you then. Love and hugs!
I loved the Thankful Thursday blog and comments. I’ve often heard that an “Attitude of Gratitude” is the way to keep me from self, depression, etc. Thanks for sharing.
