“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” ~ Psalm 28:7 (ESV)
I am sorry that I am a tad late tonight with posting Thankful Thursday — had to get furniture today for our son…This has been a very busy week already and I am thankful for many things, but I will just share a few with you this time around, since I am already late posting 😉 .
- I am thankful that the Lord gives me a thankful heart every morning and a new song to sing when opening my eyes — especially when I don’t feel thankful getting up early in the morning…
- I am thankful that I am healthy enough to get out of bed every morning and contribute to the household income…
- I am thankful that our son is excited moving out…
- I am thankful that my Sweetheart and I are going to have time for ‘us’ again. We are looking forward to the ‘second’ half our marriage — to be honest, we are excited, thrilled and giddy…
- I am thankful that the ‘move’ of my blog when fairly smooth. Some things are still missing, but I am able to publish AND I receive emails again — PTL…
- I am thankful for Darlene’s new column of “Live Well”. If you haven’t check it out yet, I encourage you to head on over there. I think it will bless you…
- And of course I am thankful that vacation is only 7 working-days aways – PTL!!!

Oh Iris, Reading your list just thrills my heart. I am thankful for many of the things you are. Your #1 ressonates with me and I also love Darlene’s column.
Glad your life is moving ahead and the blog change is going through and going well. Love you my sister, Lynn

I am so glad that ya’ll are getting things with you son taken care of .
Our son is ready to be on his own–even if he does not know it, 😉
and when that time comes we will also look forward to one less bird in the nest.
I hope ya’ll have a speedy– cool moving day!
Glad to know that your vocation comes near and near….enjoy your TT
I am joining for the first time and hopefully did things right. I am enjoying your blog and this idea. I actually wanted to start something like this, but then I did a google search and found out you had already started this meme.
Wonderful list my friend.

so sweet, second honeymoon….nice to hear moving your blog going well…goodluck!! 🙂
Congratulations on your “second honeymoon”!!! Its still millions of years before we get there. Thank you for the inspiration again today. God Bless
I agree…there is no empty nest for us. It’s been great to have the kids come back for visits.
You are soon to be empty-nesters? Woohoo! We put our daughter on a plane this morning. She spent the past 2 weeks living with us, probably her last. We’re excited new beginnings too. Hugs!
It’s always a blessing to be well and to be able to see a new morning everyday.
Blessings on the “second” half of the marriage. That really is good to hear, esp since the past few days I’ve been hearing couples breaking up which is really depressing.
And hope you’ll enjoy the vacation.
Great list, Iris. I’m glad you’re excited about the ‘second half of your marriage’. That’s a blessing.
Wonderful list! Wishing you a wonderful and safe vacation!
I am smiling like crazy—so happy that you can enjoy the second half of your marriage! That’s so awesome!
I can’t believe your vacation is only a week away! Yahoo!
Blessings~
I’m so glad to hear you aren’t as blue about your son moving out as you were. Thanks for being such a good example to us all to look at the positive.
Im glad to read how excited you are about this season of your life. When I think of my children leaving I feel so sad….but I am not there yet….and it encourages me to think that God will prepare me for it, and give me much joy in that season as well!
Have fun!!!
So Iris, you’re going to be an empty nester? Let me tell you…it’s awesome! I’m so thankful for our family, but I absolutely love being with my hubby. And it’s the plan of God for the kids to move out. Yeah! I can hear you singing a little song…”vacation is coming, vacation is coming!” Have a very blessed weekend!
Yay for vacations! I hope it is a completely refreshing time. I can hear the overflow of thankfulness in your words. Happy second half of your marriage! I have heard it can be a thrilling time of life.
The second half of our marriage is so far away yet we still look forward to it, and are working on our marriage today, with the second half in mind.
Have a blessed week!
-Andrea
Such a great attitude! W have been empty nesters for a while now. It has been great and gets better every day. I emailed my hubby a song this week, “We’ve Had It All”.
So many things to be thankful for Iris. I think I’m almost as excited as you to think you have your vacation in just one week!!!
What an exciting time for your marriage! I pray blessings on this new chapter!
Great list! I have missed reading Thankful Thursday lists!! I am so glad to be back!
Blessings~
Karen
What a great list and I love the “giddy”. I am enjoying my last two years before son # 2 (fourth child) leaves home and I am alone with hubby. We do have more time now together than with four little ones under foot and those years are precious.
God Bless You!
I’m especially thankful that my mother is ‘sleeping soundly’ after her operation today.
I’m thankful for water. Today when I have none, I remember that having a tap with rushing water is a privilege and a blessing.
Praying that all goes well with the move!
I hope you have a wonderful vacation!!! Blessings on your day!
As always, this is an incredibly uplifting list!
Iris, you are a BLESSING!
I know EXACTLY where you are coming from —-no empty nest—-just a nest full of love! I pray that you will grow even closer (if that’s possible!). Jeff and I have grown closer since the “emptying of bedrooms”. It is a different feeling! And….happy vacation girl!
I always enjoy reading your thankful lists! Many blessings to you!
Tina
Have fun on your “live it again honeymoon!” Must be exciting!

This is just wonderful… Thanks for sharing with everyone.
better late than never from me…thanks for reminding me to be thankful for everything. I’m glad you have a love filled nest and hope you have a great vacation!!!
I always enjoy reading your list. I too thank God for the song He places in my heart as He wakes me to a brand new day. Be blessed
Stacy
The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation (Psalms 118:14)
Hope all is well! Sending love and warmest hugs……
We’ve been empty-nesters for 5 years now, and it’s wonderful. Always a treat when the kids come home to visit, but we’ve grown to love our time together, being spontaneous about heading out for the weekend, or even dinner and a movie. You’re going to love it, I guarantee!
Love your list and I’m counting down with you to your vacation.
