“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
~ Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)
If you have been visiting my blog for a while, you will have noticed that I quote often from the book of Philippians. It is my favorite epistle lesson from Paul. If I need a little ‘pep-talk’, I turn to the pages of Philippians — it makes my heart sing (maybe I should change my blog to something from Philippians–hehe)…So today, my focus of Thankful Thursday is rejoice/joy…
- I am thankful that God always finds a way to put joy back into my heart. No matter how down I am, He finds a way through His Word, music, spouse and friends…
- I am thankful that I have a great group at work that is working together, helping each other out. No selfishness in that group. That is very rare in the corporate world and it brings me joy to be part of that group…
- I am thankful that my beloved helped me with a serious matter this past week. He put the joy of being online back into my heart…
- I am thankful that Carol is back online. She always makes me smile, laugh, think – pure joy…
- I am thankful that Angie accepted our invitation to write for Laced with Grace, while Terri is on extended writing break. I am always uplifted, encouraged and joyful when I see Angie’s faith…
- I am thankful for Darlene’s new column “Live Well“. I so enjoyed it reading it this month (I missed last month). If you have not read it, I encourage you to do so…
- I am thankful for Christian artists that take their ‘job’ serious and base most of their music on Scripture passages. Those songs put joy into my heart…
- I am thankful that I will be hosting IOW next week. I always enjoy reading different takes on the same quote. Come back Friday to find out which quote I have picked…
I have added the Carnival of Beauty button to my post, since my dear friend Vicki as Windows to my Soul is hosting it for this week with the theme of Joy. Click on the button below to read more carnival posts…
There are many more things I could write what I am thankful for, but I wanted to keep with my theme 😛 . What are you thankful for this week? I hope you care to share with us. Please leave your link below, visit other participants and leave comments as your time permits…
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Be blessed today and as always…

I, too, am thankful for powerful worship which is based purely on the Word of God. Hearing God seems easier through song sometimes, doesn’t it? Rejoincing with you.
oh I tell ya, without Christian music I wouldn’t be able to spend that time with God in worship and praise 🙂
I enjoyed your post Iris, bless you.
What a lovely thankful list you have!! This does me so much good each week to write down all that I have to be thanful for!! Blessings from Grams
Glad your heart is filled with JOY, Iris!
What a lift to come here and read about JOY! You bring a warm smile to my heart. :~)
I love Philippians too… Paul reveals his emotional side in that letter far more than in say, Romans. He’s a pastor’s Pastor, a theologian’s theologian, and the Apostle to the Gentiles. My kind of guy! Hugs, e-Mom
I love the book of Philippians too. One of my favorites!
I’m so glad we’re on a joyful theme. Thank you for all your work in hosting…
Thank you Iris for sharing your joy and your grateful heart. Thank you for this place where we can share what the Lord has done in our lives. You are doing a great job!!
Iris, I thoroughly enjoyed your post this week! Blessings!
A wonderful post, as always, Iris. Glad you are feeling joyful, even though sometimes it is very difficult.
I haven’t participated for a couple of weeks due to time constraints, but I had time to write tonight for which I am thankful!
another wonderful post, Iris! thank you so much for sharing with us. 🙂
Blessings …
Sister—you have been listening into my heart! The Lord knew I NEEDED your verse! When I read it I felt the warmth of the Lord’s hand!
This has been a tough week….as I have already told you….but you are God’s messenger to my heart!
I have read some of the most awesome blogs this week! As time has permitted me—the Lord uses each one to “tell me” something I need!
Bless you sweet friend!
Wow we are so on the same page this week! Thanks for sharing your grateful heart and hosting this wonderful Thankful Thursday!
Awesome. Just awesome. God bless you!
Wonderful list! My list is up and I’m even thankful for the fact that my daughter is up and not wanting to go back to sleep (she’s been up since 3:30a and it’s almost 5a!) Have a blessed day!
I just started a study on Philippians. You might be interested in it at some point. It’s one of those at-your-own pace kinds of things.
Great list. Husband’s are good for keeping us together in the time of choas! Have a great day.
Iris, I am just so thankful for you!

Great things to be thankful for. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, yet again, Iris!
I am so greatful for our post! Sweet! I also love Darlene’s post Live Well. She is such an encouragement.
That is a great point about Christian artists. Blessed be His Name!
God Bless You!
another wonderful TT!
Thank you for the theme today. No matter how my week has gone or my mood, I always feel better after I do my list on Thursday and read some of the others. There is so much to be thankful for. We are all rich in blessings. Beth says, if you drive a car to Bible Study, then you are rich compared to people in other countries. It doesn’t take long when you stop to think, to realize just how much we have. We just have to be careful not to get caught up in “stuff”. Thank you so much for sponsoring this weekly meme.
Blessings, Mama Bear
Thankful for bloggers like you who are also Committed Christian Artists…Artists with words…
You are blessing SO many, thank you for that…
peace,
lori
I love Phillipians too, but to be honest, I’m having more of a Job week than a Phillipians one 🙂 It’s the ALWAYS in that verse that’s hard somedays!
Indeed, it’s so hard to try to bring back joy when we do it ourselves. Only God can help us out of our “down days”, and we only need to ask, right?
Thanks for your sharing, Iris! Pls come by my site when you have the chance. Just want to share with you my reasons for being thankful 😀

Hi Iris, as always was very blessed to visit and read your Thankful Thursday! ~hugs~
Powerful worship I’m grateful for always. Nothing helps me come into His presence like worship.
Thank you for keeping TT going.
Iris…Your TT post is always a blessing to me! I needed those words about *rejoicing* today!
I’m back this week, but late. I’ve got to work on getting my blogging time in! 🙂 Hopefully I’ll do better next week…:)
