“And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.'” ~ Matthew 28:4-7 (ESV)
Since this is Holy Week and Sunday is Resurrection (Easter) Sunday, I thought that I focus on this Thankful Thursday on His death and resurrection…
- Thank You Lord for sending Your Son to live a life free of sin…
- Thank You Jesus for taking the punishment for me and for not saying ‘no’ to the crown of thorns that was meant for me…
- Thank You Jesus for carrying the cross up to the hill…
- Thank You Jesus for nailing my sins of the past, present and future to the cross…
- Thank You Jesus for the victory over death and life everlasting…
- Thank You Lord for not leaving us as orphans, but giving us the Holy Spirit to help us stay on the path You have put before us…
What are you thankful for this Thursday? Please do share with us. If you have written a Thankful Thursday post, please leave your link below. As time permits, please visit other participants — as always, the links will stay with each post.
As I had mentioned last week, our Lord has provided two additional writers for Laced with Grace. Please give a warm welcome to Amy and Heather. Thank you ladies for accepting the invitation to write with us at our devotional team blog. I am thankful for the two of you – God is good 😛 .
Blessings to all of you on this wonderful, life-giving weekend…

Amen, thank you for Christ’s ressurection!
I am so thankful for my Saviour too! Beautifully said!
Where would we be without the resurrection? I’m glad we don’t have to find out. Thank you Father for your great love.
Iris, was going to post on Easter, but had something else come to my heart. But I love what you wrote. Especially these two parts:
“Thank You Jesus for nailing my sins of the past, present and future to the cross…”
How wonderful to know that none of my sins are left uncovered by his blood!
And…
“Thank You Lord for not leaving us as orphans, but giving us the Holy Spirit to help us stay on the path You have put before us.”
That’s so beautiful!
Hope you have a great week!
Gotta love our Lord and savior, Jesus.
Happy Easter.
He is risen!
Amen! Have a blessed Thursday!
We are blessed for this opportunity to reflect on His marvelous gift to all the world.
