“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
~ Colossians 3:16 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)
There are so many things I am thankful for every week; usually I share a little list with you. This week I am stepping away from my list, because I want to dedicate this post to two very special women in my life.
On Friday, Joanne wrote a great devotional called “Who is your Elizabeth“. Over the past 3 1/2 years blogging, I have met some incredible women. Some of them I am blessed to call friends. But two women stand out.
Both of them are very well rooted in His Word, but they are not afraid to admit their weaknesses. I can call on them day and night, ask for prayers, advice, share my sorrows and joys.
What makes our friendships so special though is that they are not afraid to tell me when I err, when I need to be put in my place, or tell me when I am walking in the wrong direction. Even if we don’t agree on a specific subjects, we can discuss them in love.
Although all three of us live in different states, I am blessed that Laurel (who I have met in person) and Lynn (still praying to meet this side of heaven) are my “Elizabeth”. They have stuck with me this past summer; listened to my whining; went before the throne of grace on my behalf. They encouraged me — still do every single.day.
If I have something on my heart, both of them are the first ones I will email. I know that I will receive Godly counsel from them.
Lord of Heaven and Earth. I am forever grateful that you have placed these two women in my life. Lord, may our friendship continue to grow through Your love, grace and mercy. Lord, help me to be a friend to Laurel and Lynn as they have been to me. In the precious name of Jesus ~ Amen

Thankful Thursdays. I am thankful for my salvation in Christ Jesus alone. I am thankful for the blessing of a good marriage and a house full of children (of all ages)! I am thankful that God loves me enough to encourage me in His word and also enough to correct my wrong attitudes. Praise Be To GOD!
In Him,

I agree! What a blessing it is to have friends that are rooted, grounded and profusely growing in the Lord! I love being in God’s Garden with you and so many other precious blogging sisters besides my face to face sisters.
Have a blessed weekend.
I just LOVE special friendships, now that most of my friends are scattered all over the country, it does take something special to keep us connected!
Thanks for the opportunity to do this! I just posted my own first Thankful Thursday. 🙂 It’s short this week, but I look forward to do many in the weeks to come.
True friendships last a lifetime. May you have many more happy memories.
friendship is a precious gift from God. it is one of my prayers that i pray over my girls everyday and through out the day. that God would bring them real friendships in their life and that He would strengthen them to BE real friends to others. particularily to people that are needing a friend.
Hey Iris,
I took an unscheduled bloggy break because I just got too down on myself and figured no one was reading. I’ve gotten back to it and although it’s late, I posted my Thankful Thursday.
Thank you for still being here allowing us to share with each other what we are thankful for each week. You have truly been blessed with 2 wonderful women in your life. I pray God brings a friend or two my way because I could definitely use the prayers and accountability.
God bless you!
