Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.
~ Proverbs 3:5-8 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)
Oh, what a blessing not to have to get up at 4:30am getting ready for work. Although it does not take me 2 hours to get ready in the morning, I like to have a cup a coffee and meet with God. At any rate, vacationing this week (at home) by relaxing, reading, and refreshing body and soul.
Although I had plans to leave town, it is really nice to take my sweet time in the morning. Oh, and reading the marvelous book “Red Ink” brings to mind how truly blessed I am to live in a country where I can mention the name of Zhu Yesu Jidu without being thrown into jail. I can read my Shengjing in public if I need encouragement.

I think more and more people are now doing staycations. Enjoy this time at home Iris. I hope you had a good birthday.
Much love to you,
Debbie
Iris,
Love LOVE this scripture. I had to post about it as well. Enjoy your week and hope your Birthday was absolutely special. You are a treasure to me. BIG hugs, Lynn
Enjoy your time of refreshment.
I love that my anti-spam word just now was Jesus. He modeled pause, reflection and refreshment for us so well when he’d stop to pray or be alone.
Vacations are wonderful. Being able to be lazy in the mornings is the best!!!! Enjoy it all! BTW I love the scripture in this post:)
I copied your title because right now I am also thankful for our 5 day vacation next week!! 🙂 Blessings!!
Glad you are getting “refreshed” this week! I will think of you when I get up again tomorrow at 4:15 a.m. (Lol). Must have lots of coffee to get going!
Thanks for sharing from Proverbs. I so love that wisdom-packed book!
So glad you enjoyed your vacation. Hope your birthday was very happy, love you.
Thank goodness for vacation. Glad you are getting some well deserved rest! Love ya!
Thank you for hosting this month! I so glad you got to enjoy some vacation!
Thankful for today to join:) I am happy that you got a break.Be blessed!
Oh that is one of my favorite verses.
I wake up about two hours early also. I like the quite time in the morning. I can drink my tea and sort of “get it together” before my day begins. I had two weeks off in August. One of them I was away but the second one I stayed home. It was so nice and relaxing!
I love “staycations”. Enjoy your time of relaxation and refreshment.
Thank you for hosting this month. Thankful Thursday is a blessing in my life. Enjoy the rest of your home vacation. I think sometimes they are the best kind : )
Wow, you get up at 4:30 every morning so you can spend time with God??! Now THAT’S dedication!! I believe God rewards those who make these kinds of sacrifices for Him. Whether it’s an unexplainable source of energy to accomplish day-to-day tasks despite your early mornings, or whether the rewards come in eternity, your faithfulness will not go unnoticed.
Enjoy the rest of your staycation!!
I’m envious of your morning rendez-vous with the Lord.
And yes, what a great reminder of how blessed we are to love Jesus publicly in this country without having fear of being thrown into jail.
God bless!
🙂
It’s great to not be rushed and just relax! Have a blessed day!
So glad you are enjoying your vacation time this week!
God bless you,
Bethany
Ah, vacations. I missed mine this year because of an accident. I posted about it on my TT post. Happy Thursday Iris.
happy birthday, iris! God bless you!
Thanks for the opportunity to share how God is working in our lives!
P.S. How did you get your anti-spam words to be so heavenly minded? Love it!
This is right up my alley… as I am about to embark on a girl’s weekend with old friends this weekend. Everyone has been telling me I need this; that I need to get away. Glad you are enjoying your vacation.
Enjoy your vacation time with the LORD dear friend. May you be refreshed and renewed every moment.
Love you.
I am so thankful for this blog hop! I always look forward to reading what everyone is thankful for!
I just love this verse! It is so refreshing to remember that He is in control of our path! I am so thankful that He is. Thanks for sharing!!
Wonderful TT post! Isaiah 55:8-9 says our thoughts & ways are not like His…so when we don’t understand we have to remember that! His thoughts and ways are higher than ours! 🙂
Blessings,
Krista
I am so silly, I was so sure yesterday was Thursday that I inserted my blog a day too soon. Well, I’m sure thankful to still be in the process of learning and leaning for life holds so much richness to be enjoyed. Please visit my sight when you can.

Living for Him, Joan
I am also thankful that in our country, we can declare our faith without being imprisoned and we can shout to high heavens the greatness of God freely.
What a wonderful Thankful Thursday! Lots to be thankful for!! Glad you had a wonderful vacation!
( I thought I had commented earlier but guess not. Sorry!)
Eph. 3:5-8 is one of my favorites, definitely one to memorize! I’m starting a Christian Women’s blog myself. So far I only have just gotten the site up & running and have posted a simple welcome blog. The direction I’m going is quite a bit different than what I see here but I would appreciate any advice you have to offer, I’ve never blogged before but I’ve always been a writer. I think that Thankful Thursday is really cute. We always have something to be thankful for. I was just talking with my boyfriend today about how lucky we are to worship freely. If you have a minute sometime, check out my site & let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks & keep up the good work (: http://everythink-pink.net
