“For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
~ Revelation 7:17 (ESV)
On Sunday afternoon my husband and I went out to take some photographs. Since we just went ‘down-town’, I did not take any water. We are usually taking each a bottle of water, but I totally forgot since I figured we would not be gone for a long time.
Not taking water was a huge mistake! Soon after getting out of the air-conditioned truck, I started pouring water (aka sweat). After 20 minutes my shirt was soaked. We ended up buying one bottle of water, but apparently it was not enough. Sunday night I could not go to sleep; I was so thirsty. I kept getting up to drink water. On Monday, both my husband and I felt horrible. Our bodies were dehydrated, and it took all day Monday to get hydrated.
This experience reminded me of the Word; how we sometimes don’t get refreshed through God’s Word. If we neglect to read at least a little each day, soon we feel horrible. We are tired, exhausted, and frustrated. But if we stay close to the Living Water, our days go better (even during stress times).
So this week, I am thankful for water; for physical water to hydrate the body properly and the Living Water that fills our souls.

A gift from the wilderness inspired by God…
Satan has deceived the whole world Rev 12:9 until a woman delivers the true word John 1:1, Rev 12:5, Rev 12:13 from the wilderness Rev 12:6 at the heel of time Gen 3:15. God our Father will not put any child of his into a hell fire no matter what their sins. It never entered the heart or mind of God to ever do such a thing Jer 7:31, Jer 19:5. I invite you to check out the bruising of Satan at http://minigoodtale.wordpress.com
One thing I always think about with water is that I’m so thankful I’m among the very low and incredibly FORTUNATE percentage of the world’s population who have the luxury of running, DRINKABLE water right in our homes. I read a statistic somewhere that the average distance a human being has to travel for clean water in this world is something like 7 miles. Seven MILES!! And I barely have to take seven steps from anywhere in my house and there are taps with hot and cold running water that’s safe for me to drink and wash in.
I guess that’s similar to having God’s Word, too. We here in North America are among the few fortunate who have virtually unlimited access to the Holy Word of God ~ and what an incredible gift that is!
That is so true. We need clean refreshing water to life but we also need the living water Jesus offered the woman at the well. Thank you so much for hosting this blog hop, I look forward to it each week.
God Bless

Great reminder! Thank you for hosting Thankful Thursday!
So True~! My prayer is that I will truly understand the great gift of the Word I have been given and take full advantage of it. Really drink it in deep.
Wow. Thank You for the beautiful reminder… and for hosting T.T. 🙂 …
So true Iris! May we all thirst like never before for more of Him and His Word! Happy TT! 🙂
What a great reminder to drink of the Word of Life that refreshes our souls! I am thankful that we have the very words of the God of the universe to partake of each new day. Humbling thought that He loves and cares for us, is interested in each monent of our day, and desires to fellowship with us.
How can we not want to spend time at His feet each day, seeking “the better thing.”
This is very true! Thank you for the reminder, as well as for hosting so many thankful hearts!
Such a great parallel between the water and the Word. Oh, how many times we get dehydrated from not enough Word…and simply need to drink in His Words of life. Thanks for this today. Blessings ~ jen
Oh Iris, I can totally identify! Water is essential for us who live in the Phoenix desert area. And God’s Word is essential for us believers. He refreshes me with His Word each morning.
Love,
Debbie
What a perfect analogy! We are always refreshed by Christ’s Living Water! Thanks for the reminder to drink of it every day!
Blessings, Joan
Shalom – stopping by to share something interesting
The State of Israel was established in the year 5708 to the Creation of the World – and the 5,708th verse in the Torah reads, “And G-d will bring you to the Land inherited by your forefathers, and you will take possession of it, and He will do good to you…” (Devarim/Deut. 30,5)…
I was so excited when I saw this statement that I wanted to check it out for myself (and to have grid available whenever I wanted it). I created a spreadsheet for the 1st five books that would do the calculation for me as I entered chapter, verse, count, total count from Genesis/ Bereshis.
BORUCH HASHEM! I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS FOR MYSELF! If anyone would like this table (5 books) in PDF form – just email me and I will be happy to send it to you free of charge.
I am thankful that God continues to pursue me, though I am a sinner still
