Cross

Have you ever tried to post something and it doesn’t want to work. I have been messing with this post for the past 25 minutes – arkg. Okay, so the picture didn’t come out as I wanted it to come out….But I still will publish it – ha!

This is my treasure today. Not really the cross itself (although this is my favorite one – got it from my Sweetheart several years ago). It is actually the meaning behind it; not a fashion statement. Some people ask me why I would wear such a crude symbol around my neck.

Well to tell you the truth, I wear what I believe in! It shows others that I am a redeemed child of God. If Jesus would have died on the electric chair, I would wear a little electric chair around my neck. But He died on the cross for my sins – so a cross it is.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18

Thank you Faith for creating Tuesday Treasures and giving us the opportunity to share with the world our treasures.

Please let me know in the comment section if you are sharing a treasure today. Even if you don’t have a treasure to share, leave a comment .

  1. I love it! Do people really think it is crude????? I think it is lovely and of course the meaning is the treasure!!
    Thanks for playing!

  2. I had a tiny little gold cross years ago I used to wear…then I put that one away and wore a HUGE black and silver one for years (And I do mean huge)…I want another cross, but I am so picky about what I want…one I have dreamed about, but never really seen, that I wear the cross on my heart and in my head so I never forget what He did for Me.

Lovely treasure. Thanks for stopping by mine.

  3. LOVE your treasure – the meaning indeed. I too wear a little gold cross with teeny tiny diamonds in it. My man gave it to me the Christmas before we were married and the only time I take it off – ever – is to take off my hair that has broken off and gotten all tangled up in it. What a reminder! Loved your treasure!

  4. What a wonderful treasure. I wear a fish around my neck(!) that has a cross in it. I’m with you…I wear what I believe. Great post! I did get a chuckle out of the electric chair around your neck, but I agree. Have a blessed day!

  5. Yes, I have a Tuesday Treasure, and I just love the cross. One of my favorite hymns is At the Cross. The cross has so much meaning. A crude symbol? Of course. But you are right. If He had died on the electric chair, millions of Christians would be wearing electric chairs around their necks. God bless.

  6. It is a beautiful post and a wonderful treasure. It really does out shine any other treasure any of us could have. Thanks for sharing it.

    Mine is up, too.

  7. I love your treasure!! It’s beautiful and I completely understand what you mean by the treasure is in the meaning. I used to have a cross necklace I wore all the time but now all the stones have fallen out. I’ve looked all over for another one but like Sheri, I’m so picky that I haven’t found it yet.

    Thanks for sharing!

  8. So nice!

If I knew I could come up with something new each week and include a meaning, I’d play… but that’s hard work, girl! 🙂

Where’s my tag? LOL You must be tired or busy working… ? Hope all is well and OK there.

  9. In our church we dont wear crosses, but we carry the cross in our heart. I preach about the ‘inward cross’. I am a Christian from the other side of the world. God bless your blog! But do visit my blogspot blogs or my simpler, deeper, spiritual blog at http://borax.wordpress.com
You will be pleasantly surprised and delighted!

  10. I have a tiny gold cross with a little piece of diamond in it that my mom gave me when I was 16. It is my favorite piece of jewelry to wear. I wear it for the meaning of the cross and with my mom gone I wear it when I want to feel her close.
