Lunch with Laurel

…was awesome! Have you ever met someone for lunch you have never seen, but felt like you were best friends forever? That is how I felt when I met Laurel today. Sure I was a little nervous, but as soon as we gave each other a hug, the ice was broken–at least for me. I was sad that the two hours we chatted flew by in no time.

Oh, you are wondering what we had for lunch? Glad you asked. A yummy cheese-bread and a Mexican chicken salad. I think we could have shared the salad — they were huge. Laurel had ice-tea and your’s truly had diet Pepsi. I wish I wouldn’t drink diet Pepsi, but I started about a month ago after a year of abstinence *sigh* (we have a huge soda fountain at work–it is free)…

I am glad that the Lord gave us the opportunity to meet face-to-face before we get to heaven 🙂 – You know, Laurel and I had to agree. The Christian blogging community is so amazing. And we are both thrilled to be part of it.

Thank you Laurel for the wonderful time and thank you for the beautiful pendant from Florida…I hope to talk to you soon. Don’t forget to call me when you are in the Metro Phoenix area again…

Blessings to your Friday evening and as always…

  1. What fun Iris. It’s so refreshing to hear that the friendships we form when we can’t even see one another are only enhanced when we meet face to face. I think we get to know one another pretty well. I felt sure you and Laurel would have a great time together. I’m so glad you did.
    Have a super weekend.

  5. dear Iris,What a wonderful time you and Laurel shared together on that wonderful day. I experienced such similiar meet with sister.
I got to now one sister by accident on 2004, that time she and her friend were chatting about Jesus in Mcdonald’s. That time I was near to them. Then I walked to them and told them that I was also christian and chatted with them about Jesus. But a pity only several minutes because I had a date with one girl-friend. That time I just visited that city. Then I left that city.
Though I contacted with that sister several times these years, but I changed to another city on 2005, then we lost each other. But thanks to the Lord, we got to contact with each other at the end of 2006.
Then this year I came to work in the city where I got to know that sister. But you know that only one time face-to-face meet by accident, then the second time I met with her, on my way, I though maybe we do not know what to say…..
But thank the Lord, that afternoon, we shared together, not only the hot-pot she cooked for me, but also we read bible together, prayed together………
Even last night, I experienced my low spirit, she called me and prayed for me via phone.
I should thank the Lord arrange so lovely sisters in my life. Even you, so wonderful sisters here even never face-to-face meeting.
Wish you have a wonderful weekend!!!!!!
