Thinking Out Loud…

I know that I had high plans on catching up on my reading this past week…Did I do it? Nope. BUT — I am refreshed – mentally at least. I have a new appreciation for God’s beauty around me.

Do you want to hear a funny thing? Well, even if you don’t want to know, I am going to tell you. The second day I wasn’t blogging, my Sweetheart asked me if I ‘broke’ my blog…Hm, that got me thinking–do I really spend that much time blogging if my Sweetheart notices the time I spend doing other things 😮 .

That brings me back to Christine’s “30-Day-Challenge“. I never shared my conclusion with you. I prayed for my husband–that is a good thing. I also realized that my body-language is a real problem. My Sweetheart told me that when I ride in the passenger seat of his truck, I sometimes flinch–flinch when someone comes too close to us. I paid more attention to my reaction for the rest of the ride. That night I realized that I do the same flinching when I drive-yikes. I even close my eyes half way when I see someone merging into traffic and I believe it is way to close for comfort…So, need to work on my body language and facial expressions, thats for sure!
My communication with my husband has improved – I tell him when something is not right, and when his words sting a little…I have to say, Christine’s challenge was a huge eyeopener to me. Thank you Christine.

Well, as mentioned above, I didn’t catch up on my reading, but I kept busy with things that I wanted to do for a long time–learn more about Photoshop CS2. I realized that I only know about 10% of what I can do with that program – oh my! I made some LO’s this past week (I show you one in a minute 😛 )and I learned some neat things …
I learned how to create a background from my own photography, how to create my own brushes (thank you, Stephanie). Currently I am working on making Scripture passage brushes (thank you Miss Mint for inspiring me to make word brushes).

Oh, and I listened to the book of Daniel last week. What an incredible book. I think I have to dig out my study material I worked through several years ago. What really struck me was the prayer Daniel prayed in Chapter 9. What if we were to pray for our nation the same way? Wonder what would happen…

I have so much to share with you all, but I think I have already rambled enough today…And Michelle; your purse is finally on its way – I am so sorry about that. I kept forgetting to take it with me to work to mail it. You should have it this week. Next time I have a purse give away, I have Leigh send it out–she is much better with the mailing than I am…

Almost forgot. Here is one of my LO I did last week:

Well, that is it for today–I am thrilled that you stopped by. Be blessed today and as always…

  1. Welcome back dear one, you were missed. I am glad you enjoyed your time away from blogging. We all need times of refreshment. Be blessed my friend.

  2. Beautiful as always, it is always good to change your focus around so you don’t get burned out in one thing (I go from reading, blogging, scrapping, etc…)

    Have a great week.

  3. Dear Iris, welcome back here. It is really a wonderful pic you did with Photoshop, I also use this to deal with my pics, but not good as you.
And also glad to know that you get refreshment for your off time from blog….but looking forward to reading more wonderful posts from you….. 🙂 Love you

  4. I always love your scrapbooking pages…..I have corel paintshop pro and I know that there is probably a ton more things I can do with that program to but I have not had allot of time to learn…..and I have ADD when it comes to reading manuals so I have to learn everything the hard way…….
So glad your break was refreshing!
    Blessings

  5. Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing, I relate to the Husband issue of “did your blog break”, I have begun to realize that I too need to curb my time on the computer as well. I have made Sundays a no computer day for me and on some occasions I do ask that my family participate as well, and more often than not they do.

  6. Iris – I’m so glad you’re back!!! It sounds as though you time off was time well spent. I love that beautiful picture. You are getting so creative!
I know what you mean about spending too much time blogging. The Lord gave me a nudge about that this morning. I think this “unbalance” affects every area of my life. I need a huge dose of self-discipline. I think that may be the next big thing the Lord and I will have to work on. It’s going to be hard to change the bad habits of a lifetime. Thankfully where I am weak He is strong.
So good to have you back. You bless me – always.

  7. Sure you can promote away……we may have to update it when Darlene does her thing but for now I am cool with starting to promote it!
    Thanks

  8. Yay!! You’re back. Boy, have we missed you!!!

Hmmm….funny what we notice after someone points out little things they focus on, huh?

So you made a background, wow! I have been experimenting a little myself. Nothing, of course, to compare to yours. I would LOVE to have a signaute. I am working on that.

    Can you tell I’m excited?!!!

    Blessings to you….

  9. Iris, I am absolutely clueless about the “computer” techy sounding stuff you are talking about….but do ramble on because I want to learn and glean!!! 🙂
I am glad that you are back. It’s neat and odd to miss someone you’ve never met other than bloggyland….but I think….when we get to heaven….the Lord will corral all the bloggers together and let us have a happy chat time!
    Bless you big time!

  10. No worries about me my friend — I’m glad you were able to get some reading and learning in! I “need” to take the time to learn more about Photoshop CS2 — I keep saying, but … need to get into action!!!

  11. You sound SO relaxed! That’s wonderful! Your photo layout is really nice… you’re getting really good. I love the desert colors.

As for the Book of Daniel, my daughter and I are over halfway through Beth Moore’s study on that book. It’s chock full of imagery, and mysteries, isn’t it? Beth certainly has a talent for making Scripture come alive. I’m planning a post on her this week! Hugs, and welcome back.

  12. Glad to have you back, Iris! Your layout is lovely. Is that a picture of a rose from your own garden? I love roses…

I’m happy that you are refreshed. Try not to wear yourself out too much now. 🙂

  13. I’ve missed you! I’m glad to see that the challenge was a blessing to you, Iris! Hope your break was refreshing…now it’s my turn!! 🙂

  14. I finally bought the program, Photoshop Elements 5.0. But I still haven’t found time to even load it and look at it. Good grief. So that messed up thing you did looks about a thousand times better than any I’ve done yet. LOL

  15. Beautiful layout! I need to work on my body language with my hubby. You made me really think about that. I appreciate the gentle reminder!! I really enjoyed visiting!
