I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart,
and I will glorify your name forever.
~ Psalm 86:12 (ESV)
I have been pretty much an independent woman all my life. So committing to a van-pool is something new for me. Although I have always used public transportation while living in my home country, I had to drive here in AZ for the past 19 years.
That changed this week. Some of my close friends know that driving is not my favorite thing to do, but I have to for work. At any rate, this week, I joined a van pool that leaves a 1/2 mile from my house. My friend Lori (who I shared about last week) was praying for me to join 😉 . She knew how driving puts me in a mess.
The best thing about the van-pool? I am home almost an hour earlier and have more time to relax by reading, or working on photographs. I will still be driving in on some days, but for the most part, I am now a ‘van-pool girl’; enjoying it, saving some money and doing something good for the environment!
What are you thankful for this week? Please do share by leaving your link below to your TT post for this week.

Iris, what a great idea! I love how the van pool ended up being a blessing for you in many ways. Think about all the gas money you’ll save and wear and tear on your car. And the extra time to read ….
Don’t you love it when you step out and God blesses you?
Love you,
Debbie

Iris,
“Remember: sometimes a solution to your challenges is closer than you think.”
I really loved this quote! I am so glad you have been able to gain an hour at home and are enjoying the van-pool. God is good.
Thanks for hosting this month, again. Thankful Thursday is wonderful, and I am very thankful to you gals who do it each week and each month so faithfully.

Well, that is just cool! I’m happy you found something that works so well for you. 🙂
Ooops..forgot to change the link to my current post. Here it is: http://thefaeryinn.wordpress.com/2010/12/16/thankful-thursday-7/
Iris, what an answer to prayer. That is awesome!!!!
Good for you! I have been commuting by bus for four years.
I have live on an island, but get to the mainland via three bridges (there’s another bridge between us). Its a long commute by the time I add lay-over and a transfer. But its worth it. I listen to my I-pod, read, sleep, read and/or pray. It saves money, since our local transit is free. And its definately good for the environment. 🙂
How cool to try something out of your comfort zone, and to be doubly blessed by it!! That is so God!
Thank you for hosting thankful thursday!
Have a great week!
