Thankful Thursday ~ In His Hands…


What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:7

  • I am thankful for His guidance in my current job. I tell you it is not easy to keep smiling when everyone around you is either grumpy or too busy for a simple “Good morning”. Would you believe me that I ‘hear’ God more often now than when I was working in the church office? Or do I actually listen for His small voice more now? I am just glad that I am in His hands and He guides my heart and mind…
  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart is doing much better tonight. He had, for the second time in two weeks, a dizzy spell last night. The entire room was spinning in front of his eyes. I was ready to throw my jeans back on and drive him to the E.R. (thank you Jamie for the emergency prayer you lifted up)
  • I am thankful for Ruben’s baptism on the 4th of July. What a double celebration! 😛
  • I am thankful for the rain this morning. Although no one seems to be able to drive if it rains in the Valley of the Sun, I made it safe to work…
  • I am thankful for my health and able to work on a daily basis.
  • I am thankful that I able to submit my favorite female bloggers to Sallie for the ‘Blog of Beauty Awards‘
  • And I am thankful that I live in this free country, with internet access and cable TV, so I can watch the German soccer team play in the World Cup (even now they ‘only’ can play for the 3rd place – not bad at all, but then again that is just my humble opinion :razz:)

‘Encourager of the Month’ – June 2006

Sting My Heart Award

My little ‘Sting my Heart’ award is certainly not the ‘Blog of the Year Award’, but I like to give it as a ‘Thank You’ to Bloggers who are encouraging to me. There are so many brilliant Blogs out there, and this months I was going back-and-forth between two. But after this past weekend I knew which one I would like to present with the “Encourager of the Month” award.

The June 2006 award goes to ‘Partners in Prayer for our Prodigals’. This Blogger made me laugh and cry this past month. But I do have to say that my favorite post was “Does it make a difference son – that I love you?”. I can so relate to this post, because of our son just turning 21. People always say: ‘little children, little challenges – big children, big challenges’.

So, thank you Diane for your encouragement this month. Thank you for standing in the gap for all prodigals. I hope you have a great time with your family on vacation and that you will except my little award.

Can you believe it? I still can’t. Christian Women Online picked Sting My Heart as the Blog of the Month from the blogroll. Wow – God had something special in mind when I decided to go a little lighter on My Lighter Side. I guess I followed His voice for once to concentrate more on my first blog…Thank you Lord for whispering in my ear. Thank you Darlene and Christian Women Online for this great honor. Thankful Thursday – God is Good


What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy
and I will give thanks to him in song.” ~ Psalm 28:7

  • I am thankful for God’s protection in traffic on Tuesday. Yeah – very thankful indeed. Right behind me, at a stop light, two cars collided, but I wasn’t hit :smile:.
  • I am thankful for my sweetheart helping out this past weekend cleaning the carpet. Since my surgery 5 years ago, I am not allowed to do heavy things (no – it is not a copout). If I overwork my back, I will pay for it for several weeks.
  • I am thankful that Christian Women Online named Sting my Heart ‘Blog of the Month – June 2006′ – :smile:! God knew that I needed some good news today.
  • I am thankful that I am healthy enough to keep my house in order and be able to work on a daily basis.
