Who ever Said…
…that you can’t jazz up old hymns has not heard the “Redemption Songs” album by the group “Jars of Clay“. When you grew up like me with Rock – you will appreciate this project. The melody lines and the lyrics are from old, favorite hymns, like “Nothing but the Blood”, “I’ll Fly Away” or the song you can hear here, “I Need Thee Every Hour”, but oh, the arrangements rock!!!! Although I bought this CD for only the one song I truly love (“I’ll Fly Away”), I love the entire album. I give it 5 stars …

Blessings on your day and as always…
Thankful Thursday ~ Promises
- I am thankful that God’s promises are pure, pure like silver as the above passage tells us. It is wonderful to be able to rely on Him…
- I am thankful for Shamus’ and Heather’s new site ‘The Narrow Gate‘ which will help me to stay on task with my Bible reading plan for this year. You see, it is all about accountability…
- I am thankful that I am allowed to host “In Other Words” this upcoming Tuesday. I chose a quote from Liz Curtis Higgs’ book “Embrace Grace“. You can pick it up at CWO tomorrow, Friday, January 5th. I hope you will like it as much as I do. I think that God’s grace will be a ‘theme’ for me this year – I know, it should always be, but we seem to forget (okay I forget) that His grace is amazing…
- I am thankful that my Sweetheart helps me at night to clean up the kitchen. BTW – we have been together for 25 years. We met on January 2nd 1982…
- I am thankful that I have health and dental insurance again. It was a long time coming…
What are you thankful for this week? Do you have promises to hold on to? I would love to hear from you today .
Blessings on your day and as always…

Yeah – I know. I break the rules for Wordless Wednesday (once again) this week. As you know, I normally post 100% of my own photography on WW, but this week I just had to link to my favorite on-line Magazine:
My friend Darlene from CWO Ezine interviewed my favorite female Christian artist ~ Darlene Zschech. You can read the entire interview here (or click on the cover page above). Darlene has the most powerful voice I have ever heard. I love listening to her when I drive to/from work. You can just hear in Darlene’s songs Who the focus is in her life. I am sure that you have heard (and sang) the song that made her famous: Shout to the Lord! I hope you will check out the interview and learn a little more about this amazing artist who has dedicated her voice to glorify God.
Have a wonderful and blessed Wednesday .
