Thankful Thursday ~ Second Chance…

What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“‘But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.”
~ Luke 15:22-24 (ESV)

  • I am thankful that my Heavenly Father gave me a second chance to walk in His Spirit…
  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart took me up north this past Saturday — to breathe some fresh air.You can’t believe the bad air we have here in the Valley of the Sun…
  • I am thankful that we now have cooler weather ~ it only got up to 87F yesterday…
  • I am thankful that I am not a goat and God gave me a second chance go give someone a ride because their car broke down (long story ~ too long for Thankful Thursday)…
  • I am thankful that I have a second chance to share my testimony with my readers. The first one is somewhere buried in my archives…If I just could remember the name of the previous testimony post…
  • I am thankful that I can share with you a Blogger that blesses me all the time…What can I say? I will be posting twice tomorrow…

You are wondering why I am bringing up the second chance God gave me? Well, Heather at ‘Graced by Christ‘ is hosting a meme on Friday. She is asking people to share their testimony.

Would you consider to share yours? I hope so. I just hope that I will not alienate some of my readers. Although a Christian as long as I can remember, I had a period in my life where I didn’t walk with Him…But He gave me a second chance. If you have never read the story of the “Prodigal Son” I encourage you to read it and meditate on it a little. I think the story is for Christians who wandered away from the faith…He is faithful and He is calling your name ~ listen to Him…What are you thankful for today?

Have a blessed Thursday…

Thankful Thursday ~ Encouragement

What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.”
~ Philippians 2:1-2

  • I am thankful that, when I open my Bible, He will encourage me through Scripture. He has a way to point me to the one Scripture I need to read on any given day.
  • I am thankful for the body of Christ on the Internet. I have seen many women starting to share their faith, encourage each other in the walk, be there for each other and pray for each other.
  • I am thankful for all the new visitors ~ I love you ladies. You are a true encouragement to me to continue with Blogging.
  • I am thankful that Beth Moore will, once again, visit the Metro Phoenix area (thank you Christie for the information). If you live in this area and would like to worship the Lord of Lords with women of faith, mark your calendar for December 1st & 2nd. Beth will be accompanied by Travis Cottrell, who is truly a blessing and his worship songs are an encouragement to me on a daily basis.
  • I am thankful that, if I need to get a break from the hectic life in Phoenix, my Sweetheart will make a mini-trip with me this weekend (hopefully it will be getting cooler).
  • I am thankful for women like Amy, who are encouraged coming here and find this Blog to be worthy of an award. Thank you for presenting Sting My Heart with the “Blessing Award” for the month of September.

What a busy week it has been, but I am thankful for that. It is great to keep myself busy, because that means I am staying out of trouble .

Find thankfulness in the little things of life, so you are not overwhelmed in stressful situations. You can even be thankful for those stressful times, because than you will have to lean on Him and not your own understanding. What are you thankful for this week? Would you care to share with me?

Have a blessed Thursday…

Thankful Thursday ~ Respect

What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
~ Ephesians 5:33 (NIV)

  • I am thankful that God’s Word is alive and active in me. Although sometimes His honesty with us is hard to swallow ~ especially when we sin.
  • I am thankful for my husband’s love.
  • I am thankful for Darlene for allowing me to blog at CWO’s blog once a week. Please read my entry from today, Brutally Honest, because I think it is something every woman of God should know (although it took me 22 years to figure it out )
  • I am thankful that our son is working a temporary job until he finds something what he really wants to do.
  • I am thankful for women like Janice who inspire me to tackle a project here and there around the house. Would you come back tonight? You know, it is the last day of the month and it is time to pick the “Encourager of the Month” (hint-hint)…

What are you thankful for this week? Care to share with me this morning/afternoon/evening? Have a blessed day…

Thankful Thursday ~ Just Life

What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“Guard my life and rescue me;
let me not be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.” ~ Psalm 25:20

  • I am thankful for new life in Him. That I always find new nuggets in His word.
  • I am thankful for friends I can count on, who do not judge me for who I am.
  • I am thankful for opportunities to grow through challenges in daily life.
  • I am thankful for that I am able to talk to my mom once a week. Although I truly miss talking to her in person.
  • I am thankful for my Sweetheart, that he forgives me for all my short-comings.

What are you thankful for this week?

Remember to take a break from every day life once in a while. Do what delights your heart. Be a Mary in a Martha’s world. Sit at His feet and just listen to His voice. Or scrapbook, take photos, read a book, knit ~ what ever tickles your fancy to refresh yourself. As I said it before. If we are not balanced, our families are not balanced. Have a blessed day in the Lord…
