Thankful Thursday ~ Encouragement

What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.”
~ Philippians 2:1-2

  • I am thankful that, when I open my Bible, He will encourage me through Scripture. He has a way to point me to the one Scripture I need to read on any given day.
  • I am thankful for the body of Christ on the Internet. I have seen many women starting to share their faith, encourage each other in the walk, be there for each other and pray for each other.
  • I am thankful for all the new visitors ~ I love you ladies. You are a true encouragement to me to continue with Blogging.
  • I am thankful that Beth Moore will, once again, visit the Metro Phoenix area (thank you Christie for the information). If you live in this area and would like to worship the Lord of Lords with women of faith, mark your calendar for December 1st & 2nd. Beth will be accompanied by Travis Cottrell, who is truly a blessing and his worship songs are an encouragement to me on a daily basis.
  • I am thankful that, if I need to get a break from the hectic life in Phoenix, my Sweetheart will make a mini-trip with me this weekend (hopefully it will be getting cooler).
  • I am thankful for women like Amy, who are encouraged coming here and find this Blog to be worthy of an award. Thank you for presenting Sting My Heart with the “Blessing Award” for the month of September.

What a busy week it has been, but I am thankful for that. It is great to keep myself busy, because that means I am staying out of trouble .

Find thankfulness in the little things of life, so you are not overwhelmed in stressful situations. You can even be thankful for those stressful times, because than you will have to lean on Him and not your own understanding. What are you thankful for this week? Would you care to share with me?

Have a blessed Thursday…

  1. I am thankful for the internet and blogs like yours. In the words of Beth Moore from week 3 of the “Believing God” Bible study, “What satan means for evil God can use for His glory”. She was talking about the internet. Keep using it to light your little corner of the world and mine. Thanks.

  2. Don’t you think “thankfulness” can be a “way of life”? It can shape your perspective in a way that gives meaning and beauty to the most tragic of life circumstances. With the recent anniversary of 9-11, I’m thankful so many can see beyond the horror of the day, to how God used that wretched event to draw many to Himself, how heros were born, how our country united, how those of faith were strengthened in their resolve to know Christ more intimately…this list could go on and on.

I’m thankful for you, Iris, and your ministry of encouragement…here, at Pensieve, and at all the other blogs you visit :).

  3. I am thankful for Brain today, the comcast guy who fixed me back up~
Thankful for my husband who backs all my decisions.
    Thankful for my family…

Glad you see encouragement – I hope you had a good day at work.

  4. Wow, congratulations on receiving the blessings awards! Such a great award to receive ๐Ÿ™‚ I am also thankful for a time to be busy and a time to rest…. truly, without the stresses and trials in your life, it would be hard to seek his strength because we would all be relying on our own.

My thankfuls are up. Sorry you missed them when you last visited. Blogger messed up my posts, but I was able to recover them (thankfully!)

    God bless… warm hugs!

  5. Philippians 2:1-2 is one of my all-time favorite verses! Excellent choice. Also, reading your list, a few things stand out to me. First, don’t ever think about quitting blogging. The blogosphere would be a far poorer place without you. Trust me. *-) And I hope you enjoy your mini-trip, wherever you end up going. Finally, Amy is such a creative blogger. What an honor to receive her “Blessing Award” for the month of September. Many blessings and prayers to you Iris.
