Blessed be the Lord! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
~ Psalm 28:6-7 (ESV – emphasis mine)

Do you ever have those days where you just feel totally defeated? When everything you touch just goes wrong; or you have to jump another hurtle? Girls (I am not discriminating, but I know that I don’t have any male readers 😀 ), I just had some of those days. Than God stepped in and shook me. I was about to write a Thankful post on Monday. On the days when I am down, God pours out His mercy with a huge bucket. But let me share with you…

  • I am thankful that God shakes me once in a while to remind me why I am blogging. I want to share with my readers my struggles that are met with His mercies. I want to decrease so that my Lord increases (paraphrased John 3:30). What a blessing it is that our Lord’s mercies are brand new every day…
  • I am thankful that God blessed me with an incredible patient, tenderhearted and encouraging husband. I don’t know how I would survive without my Sweetheart beside me…
  • I am thankful that God blessed me with some incredible friendships that developed over the internet. Thank you Laurel, Lynn and Terri to stand in the cap for me ALL.THE.TIME…
  • I am thankful that God blessed me with access to the internet. When I need encouragement during the week, I can just click on some Bible teachers at OnePlace.com. Not only did I listen to Beth’s continued study on Romans on Monday, but Pastor Ingram had a message that I think was straight from God (Spiritual Warfare 101). I don’t think that I clicked on that particular message by chance…
  • I am thankful that God blessed me with talented friends. Heather at Graced by Christ is a very talented artist and she has a giveaway in honor of her one year blog anniversary. Go check it out. I would love to have a painting from her…
  • I am thankful that God blessed me with a wonderful readership that takes part in Thankful Thursday. Thank you ladies for allowing me to be your hostess…
  • I am thankful that God blessed me with a wonderful Christian online magazine. If you have never read the articles on CWO’s Online Magazine, I urge you to check it out. Start today since the August issue was just published. Speaking of CWO’s Online Magazine; I have something in the works for the September issue 😛 …
  • I am thankful that God blessed me with a little talent to partake in Miss Mint’s August Scrap Challenge. If you are a digi-scrapper, check it out. There are two levels–beginner and advanced. The prize? One year Miss Mint’s creations – free. Hm, maybe I should have kept that to myself to increase my chances to win. Nah – I like to share…

What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us. As usual, leave your link below with your valid blog-address. I do delete blog links if no Thankful Thursday post is publish – sorry…

Oh, one more thing: if you haven’t had the chance to sign up for the book giveaway, scroll down to add your name to the linky…

Be blessed today and as always…

Thank you so much for your TT. You know every Thursday, I enjoy it very much. I am thankful that you lift me up with your post and your mail. Thank you so much…

Thanks so much for hosting again…This is sincerely my favorite meme. It makes me stop in my tracks, and really think. My “thankfuls” sometimes feel a bit shallow after reading some others, but then the Lord reminds me that they are what I am thankful for, and that He is pleased to receive my gratitude. 🙂

  9. I am thankful for an incredible patient husband too!

It’s amazing some of the friends you meet through blogging and how it effects your life.

    God Bless,
    Amber

  10. thank you for your Thankful Heart! Isn’t it a huge blessing to be married to the perfect man God has given us :). I hope you have a wonderful week! God Bless!

  11. It sounds to me like you’re feeling a little more refreshed lately. Glad to hear it. Once again, God is true to His word: “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25) Thank you, Iris.

  12. Thankful Thursday has been one of the sweetest blessings in my week! This has been a particularly rough one….but our pastor told us since the “moon is waining” things should get better!
Iris, you are an incredible blessing—and I am so thankful that the Lord led me here.
    Bless you!!!

  13. Hi Iris : )
Today’s post really spoke to me today.

The Lord calls us to encourage each other and trust me when I say that you encourage me!

May I be as encouraging to others! 😀

(I added a page to my Casa called “Quiet Waters” and posted my TT there)

Thank you for today’s entry, Iris!

  14. Thanks for your beautiful post, Iris! I’m thankful God keeps encouraging you in your blogging and in hosting thankful Thursday. You are blessing many.

  15. This week I am thankful for tears. That God gave us a way to let our mourning flow out. And I’m thankful that Jesus himself tasted tears. He knew what it meant to face sorrow, and He is a gentle guide into how to face our own deep sorrows.

  16. We all have those days, Iris. Thank goodness for our patient and understanding husbands.

Thank you for leading me to Heather’s site. She very talented. How I would love to have a custom painting from her. I have just the photo I’d send in mind.

I love this week’s theme, “blessings.” That should be easy enough since I’m surrounded by them. My post will go up a little later today. Imagine that – Barb posting Thankful Thursday on Thursday! LOL

You don’t have to thank us for participating – hosting TT is like receiving a gift from you each week.

  17. I’ve had kinda the same thing happening with me lately…been getting myself kinda in a rut..feeling like things have been tough…and there’s God…gently shouting at me to spend my time with Him. Gently holding my hand and speaking to me, even when I wanted to ignore it. He’s so great!
My list sounds a little like the beginning of your list. Thank you for your blog and for all that you write. You are a blessing~

  18. Hi Iris

It’s so amazing to read about what others are thankful for. We have so much to be thankful for and God always knows just what we need when we need it, isn’t He just a Super Dad.

  19. Sounds like we are much in the same place this week…defeated days, and being *shaken* by God. I’m thankful for your honesty in sharing your struggles and the encouragement Thankful Thursday always brings to my week.

  20. Thanks for sharing Iris. And thanks again for hosting this special day. I agree that sometimes God has to shake us up. But that’s my heart’s desire….that I would not grow complacent but keep the fire in heart growing hotter for Him. It’s awesome to have precious friends that stand in the gap for you. Blessings on your day.

  21. Thank you Iris for hosting this. I look forward to it each week because it makes me stop and remember all the things God is doing in my life and give Him the thanksgiving that He deserves.

  22. Hi, I’m new to this, but thanks to a friend I have decided to participate in your Thankful Thursdays. I struggle with depression, and just last night decided to start making a list of things I have to be grateful for!! So this comes at a good time! Thanks so much, and God Bless.

  23. I love it that you share exactly what is on your heart Iris and in the process just bless me so much. I have definitely had those days – and you are so right about how the Lord will lift us up if we allow Him to.
This is such an uplifting list of thanksgiving.

  24. I am blessed to have good health and after last night watching that bridge just fall down I am thankful for my safety. As I stated in my blog today…we never know when God has saved us from a situation. I am glad that i do not know about those times. Thanks for being the kind hostess that you are to all of us. Sandy

  25. I started a Thankful Thursday last week (just for me) and didn’t know you had one! I just wanted to keep my focus in the right place. So glad to join.

  27. Iris, I am just now getting back to read the Thankful Thursday posts. I don’t believe in coincidences so yes it was a God thing. And we both wrote about God’s mercies being new every morning. How neat. Thank you for your list, your testimony and this website. Blessings on your weekend.

  28. I’ve seen these “Thankful Thursday’s” on everyone’s posts and look forward to starting this Thursday! Thankyou for hosting, this will be very helpful in my weekly devotions!

  29. {{{Iris}}} Glad you’re doing better. I have had my share, plus some of those days this summer. But God is bringing refreshment again….time after time we have to learn it eh?

I had to relocate my blog. The new address is in my comment info here. My old server was giving me fits and not even usable anymore!

    God bless you
    Christie

  30. You’re a blessing to many, Iris, and you have so many friends!
